    That will be perfectly fine!

    Just make sure you label your disks and what ports they are connected to on the EX, then move same disks to same ports on the UD7 and you will be fine!

    I am about to build my rig and will be using the Coolermaster V8, I note you say used washer on back, is this a mod and if so what was the reason.

    Fitting a i7 930, Lian Li PC-P50B Case, Power Supply Tagan P900-BZ, HD WD Black Caviar 1TB SATA III, Asus ATI Radeon HD5850 1024MB GDDR5.

    Undecided on Ram, thinking 6GB for now any suggestions appreciated.

    I will post pics when build started.

    Then I will be asking what you guys recommend for OC.

    Nice forum by the way just spent almost 2 hrs reading all the posts in this thread.

    the washer mod just creates a gap between the cpu and the cpu heatsink,and lets you apply more pressure to the cpu so it cools better,personally the v8 should be good enough without adding a washer,i wouldnt like to apply too much pressure to my cpu, ocz/kingston/corsair ram all should work fine,id go for 6gb if you can and a 64 bit operating system 3.8ghz-4.2ghz would be fine for 24hour imo but its up to you really and your temps

    Thanks for the heads up on the washer mod, I will try without it and see how it goes.
    I think I will go with the Corsair 1600 Dominators 6GB, and yes I will be installing W7 64bit.

    Many thanks.

    Mushkin memory is also a great choice for these boards, I have made some Killer clocks with them!

    I Just did 2522Mhz triple channel the other day with a set.

    And it may save you some $$, depending on what Corsair set you are looking at and which Mushkin's you would pick if you decided to go that route.

    I'm just a Mushkin fan is all, not suggesting because there is something wrong with Corsair's on this board or anything like that.

    Items purchased so far,

    Case = Lian Li PC-P50B.
    MB = GA-X58A-UD7.
    CPU Fan = Coolermaster V8 CPU Fan (not my choice but given to son by his sponsor).
    PSU = Tagan TG900-BZ.
    Fan Control = Zalman ZM-MFC3 (although I will let the MB control the V8).
    DVD RW Drive Sata = Lite-On Rewriter Drive.
    Hard Drive Sata = Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB SATA III 6 Gbps 64Mb 7200.

    Still to purchase,

    CPU = i7 930.
    Graphics Card = Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card.
    Ram = Corsair 1600 Dominators 6GB.

    May need to split these 3 over this month and next.

    Does anyone know if ram prices may drop or go even higher.

    I believe memory prices are said to still be going up with no plans in letting up soon, so you may want to grab your memory now

    take a look at these memory modules before you rush out n buy the dominators,they have xmp profiles that let you run them at 1866 so you pay 1600mhz prices and get 1866mhz performance

    Thanks Wazza300,

    Already ordered the Dominators, then I read your post
    I will recover VAT as the machine will be used for business, so buying from ebay is not always best for me.
