- OCZ 6G(3x2G) DDR3 Blade C9 2000Mhz
- Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
- Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7

I am pretty limited in knowledge. I can put it together. My issues are as follows, any help sarcastic or genuine will be appreciated. The drivers available at gigabyte for the UD7 GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver
are bothering me.

The hard drives in my PC are as follows.

- Windows 7 64bit OS will be on a Raptor 300GB.
- 5 WD 500GB no raid config
- 1 WD 640 GB
- 1 samsung 1TB

I dont think I will be utilizing AHCI (tried it didnt like the delay in reading ext drives). I will not be overclocking.

The drivers from gigabyte are are:

* GIGABYTE SATA2 Driver
* Marvell Console Driver (SATA3)
* Marvell RAID Utility (SATA3)
* Intel SATA RAID Driver
* NEC USB 3.0 Driver

? Do I install them all regardless of what I am going to configure ?

cheers

ants.

Only Problem I had was with the Standard Intel CPU Fan..reseated it twice and could not get the temps down ..75-95 ..ended up buying a Zelman CNPS9500 plus mounting bracket for 1366 socket cost A$95..temps now 40-60.. see my spec..good luck..ronpeck

Hey mine fits also. The part is identical to X58 EXTREME one, and yes it does not fit really good but definetly apply some thermalpaste and put it on healps a lot. I can't really see from picture but on your heatpipe end i see strange hook lol so might be really goodto RMA on the other hand 5mm Tweek.
About Dominators same qoestion. I know on Extreme I had to run them on 1333MHz 12G. Apparently motherboards fault so I am also interested if you have all 12G or is it just 6 runnin on 1600MHz.

Just checked both of mines and on both Heatpipe and Heatpipe groove looks same. Fins on mine are far from so close to those two caps for liquid cooling. Other then that looks same as on your picture.

Mine is impossible to get mounted because when I put the cooler in the cardslot the heatpipes are more then 5mm off from the slots in the northbridge. There is no way my cooler fits on the board.
And the board are in the right position because all other cards fit in the right place like the gfx card.
Had another look at your image..have you tried shifting your video card down one slot!! ronpeck

Ok that's weird, that we have different parts.
But mine looks like the one in the manual so I donīt think itīs the wrong part.
I think it doesn't have the right measurements that it should be.

it is optional you don't have to use it but if your not using water cooling i would want it mounted
Thatīs just it, I don't think it's the case either because all the other cards fit in the slots like they are supposed too.
If the board was off by 5mm I would not be able to fit the gfx card in the PCI-E socket.

If not when you tell me how that ram ins i see you have the CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB 1600 kit will it run a 1600
Yes I built my rig last weekend.
But as of now I have not yet made any OC attempts.
I want it to be rock stable @ stock speed first, then we will see if Iīm going to OC.
The only thing I done is to put the BIOS in Extreme mode instead of Turbo.

About memory see the reply above.
About the fitting, it's not even remotely possible to get it in place as it is at the moment. The heat-pipes on the underneath of the cooler is where the thermal paste is supposed to go, on top at the flat surface.

Sorry but that will not be any better. Because it's to the left I have to get the cooler 5mm if you are looking at my picture.

Well thanks for all the reply's but I think I have too get a new one from Gigabyte. But if I have to RMA the whole board then the cooler will not end up in my board.

After your post i hasd another look at the picture and yes true there is no chanche that part is correct on. I focused on a gap betwen fins and twho heatpipes but the whole stripe of aluminium betwen the Silent pasive-pipe didn't see. That is just wrong there should paste be.
Imo you have wrong part or gigabyte made a big mistake. Its just not right after taking a close look there should be two holes for screws, anyway tnx for corection and that part is way off how it should sit.

I’ve been reading this thread. I would be ecstatic if I could ever overclock. Right now I cant do jack. My motherboard wont identify my ram properly.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I would be so very grateful if anyone using OCZ Blade 2000Mhz 9-9-9-30 and knows the standard settings for the GA-X58A-UD7 bios so it reads as it should I would be so very appreciative. Right now all I feel like doing is taking it all back and sticking to this old PC. At least it runs properly lol.
