I have liquid cooling for the CPU so overheating shouldn't be a problem. I got EX58-UD4P and i920. The maximum I could overclock it to is 3.2 GHz.

I tried settings from this thread and with that first set it wouldn't even boot - start, no beep, reset, had to do CMOS reset. Last settings, that worked for the OP got me to initial boot screen, followed by reset and CMOS restore. I also got TPM asking to press ESC or F10 after that - weird, never used TPM (TMP?..). Had to clear CMOS again.

My current settings are all default except for Bclk=158 and Multiplier is x21. That's all I could manage to do without crashes. I'm not good at overclocking, unfortunately :-/

    Anyway, here's my complete config:

    Intel i920
    Gigabyte EX58-UD4P (F10k BIOS)
    OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
    BFG Tech GeForce GTX 280
Cooler Master Silent Pro RS-700-AMBA-D3 PSU (700W)

Maximum load under stress is about 450W so power is not an issue either.

    Here's my CPU-Z screens:

Not sure about the memory - where's 1600 MHz here?
^^^ its ddr3 so you have to times it by 3 to give you true ram speed,yu shouldnt need 1.3v for 3.2ghz clock thats way too much i use less than 1.18750 and thats at 3.8ghz,for a quick and simple 3.8 clock set bclk to 180. leave EVERYTHING enabled and on auto and just set your ram voltage to 1.66.cpu voltage on the normal setting.qpi voltage on 1.30000.....set your ram multiplier to give you 1600mhz or close to,and put your ram timings in manually, thats it

That's automatic voltage, I don't mess with voltage ) I'm going to try what you suggested. What memory timings should I set? Will those on screenshots do?

Didn't even show me POST. Turned on but screen stayed blank. Had to reset BIOS again. I then tried with Bclk 170 and it showed me post but after that it shut down.

By the way, my i920 is revision C. Just in case this is the problem. Why wouldn't it overclock past ~3.2?.. I so wanted to overclock it :-/

did you set your ram at 1600mhz or close to it and the timings?? try with 1.35000 qpi and set system performance enhance to standard, keep everything else as it was

The closest without going over 1600 was 1440 (same as AUTO option does). I set 8-8-8-something, I think. On the box it says 8-8-8-24.

By the way, it warns me about going over 1.64 with DRAM voltage - is that OK?

I set system perf to Standard, yes.

yes its fine 1.66 in the bios sets it to 1.64 actual volts so its ok,it will take time to get everything right you just have to keep trying

ocz ram is rated at 1.65 but the bios only lets you select 1.66 or 1.64 ive looked in everest it actually uses 1.64 so you wont fry anything, ive been running my ram at that voltage for 9 months now,you need the full voltage to run it at full speed

So, I tried what you said but with Bclk = 170 to see if it work at least with that. And it kinda does up to the point where it should start loading Windows. First boot it showed me "BOOTMGR is corrupted, system cannot boot". Next time it hang at "Verifying DMI..." and after that it reset at this point.

So I lowered it to 165. This time it started loading Windows and then Windows showed me "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" BSOD.

So I loaded optimized defaults and set Bclk to 155 and it works. At 3.25 GHz. At least this way I actually get to use my computer :)
