    Well this is getting stranger all the time
    I deleted both files and it's back again

    I have no idea how it re appeared ..i didn't install anything yesterday

    it likely was installed if you used "Express Install" off the motherboard CD, which would have also originally installed DES.
    your exactly right ...I remember now
    I inserted the dvd and the xpress install window come up I looked through the list and unchecked a bunch of items (DES being one of them) and hit the install button.

    I just now put the dvd back in and noticed that the button says Install All
    And the next tab is for installing single items ...doh

    I guess now I need to try and un install all this crap and start over.

    As you saw theirs no options to remove the gigabyte tools in add /remove programs and I have no Easy saver folder like the one lsdmeasp posted.

    I remember in the system log it was installed as a Service ..I'll try and hunt it down and disable it their

    Good luck with the uninstalls! Let us know how you get along, a clean install may be easier to do if you are up for that.
