Default Looking for suggestions or tips to get this i7+UD3R sys. closer to 3.8-4ghz

I'm looking for some advice to get my system stable and generating not so much heat at 3.8ghz. I have okay stability at 3.7ghz but would at least like to achieve a 3.8ghz overclock with this setup. 4Ghz would be great but I'd settle for 3.8ghz right now. This is currently what my configuration and bios looks like (values in bold are settings i've changed):

    CPU: i7 920 (D0)
    Motherboard: EX58-UD3R rev. 1.6
    Ram: G-Skill 3x2Gb PC1600 (speced @ 9-9-9-24 and 1.5V)
    Bios: FB

    Advanced CPU Features:

    Ch-C Address VRef. 0.750v [AUTO]

    CPU-Z shows my Vcore @ 1.27 and my DRAM voltage @ 1.65
My idle temps are 34-36C and running Prime95 for an hour using 8 parallel tests my temps are 70-72C.

I'd be happy to get 3.8Ghz stable with passable temps with this build. I've seen a lot of people with similar if not the same builds achieve this as well as 4Ghz. 4Ghz would be great but my target is really 3.8Ghz.

Really looking for advice on what direction and what I can change in terms of voltage or any setting to get me just a little bit further. Also, would anybody know how to unlock the multi on this mobo.. can't get it to go to 21 ( I know it may be that the chip is locked, but I've seen others with the same chip running @ 21x multi so I'm thinking it may be a bios setting? Thanks in advance for any help... it's greatly appreciated.

I'll give this a try. What about LLC... should I leave it enabled or disable it? Thanks for the input.

Im in and stable at 3.8 using your settings. Nice.. thanks so much. The two previous times i played with the multi i kept getting that boot cycle thing. It must have been the voltage being too low and i think setting timings manually for all channels is important.. this board is fineky with memory. i was confused about the timings so i just kept them at spec 9-9-9-24-1t instead of 2t. Think i should tighten them?

I think I'll try to get to 4 or close too it. Thanks so much for the advice.

BTW. i installed the ET6 from that tw site and received the same failed driver respone... no biggie since I don't use it... in fact i'll probably just uninstall the entire program.

9-9-9-24-1T is better than 2T,you can always tighten them if you want but it will need testing, for 4ghz you will need to disable c1e and eist and raise cpu/qpi a little

I tried for 4 by raising the bsclk to 190 leaving turbo on and I took your advice and disabled X C1 and CEIST raising the vcore a bit to 1.31 and the qpi to 1.32. Tried running Prime and about 5 seconds in on the blend test with 8 threads it bsod'ed. Think I should try raising the IOH a bit? Ill probably just keep increasing the vcore abit more but i think my temps will get out of hand. I may just have to pick up a better cooling solution. I was thinking about fixing an additional 120mm fan to the other side of my heatsink. Just have to figure out how to get it fixed.

its mostly qpi voltage that it will need more than cpu voltage, you could attach the fan with some thin garden wire or you might do it with a zip tie, the heatsink wont get hot enuff to melt the zip tie i dont think, try with 1.35 qpi

I would first update BIOS to FDb using QFlash. FDb can enable dynamic Vcore but I would leave it alone for now. You might want to try the 19 or 21 multiplier, either my board or my CPU hate the 20 multiplier. Here are my settings for 205 x 19 = 3895 MHz. My CPU is not a good one, this is what I settled on with reasonable voltages and temperatures.
