The RAM is at 1600mhz, but the P55-UD4 motherboard only support RAM speeds of 1333,2000, or 2200.

So the Motherboard downclocks the RAM to 1333, there is no option for me to set the RAM to 1600.

yes it will support upto 2200mhz but as you raise the bclk you also raise the ram speed aswell so you have to either set a bclk that will run your ram at 1600mhz or underclock it to 1333mhz

I dont understand. In the RAM settings, I only changed the multiplier. It only has 3 settings. (x8,x10,x12) (1333,1910,2100).

What settings should I use then or can the RAM not be clocked higher ?

    This is my RAM: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=W1600UX4G9&c=pw

do you have xmp enabled? theres all different combinations you could set 210x19 bclk ect it will alter your ram multi everytime i need to look in bios to remember which gives you 1600mhz and 4ghz ill give you a propper setting as i cant remember off hand..........sorry i just read other post and saw your rams rated at 2000mhz? you can use the 10x multi then it will be ok just try with a little bit more qpi voltage

Ok I tried what you suggested.

I changed the CPU to 200x20 (4.0ghz), this in turn changed the RAM frequency to 1600mhz ( same as the RAM is rated).

I then increased CPU vcore to 1.4V and qpi to 1.35V

This time I got past the windows black screen, but as soon as it gets to desktop screen it crashes.

    Any more ideas ?

i would try less cpu and more qpi start with 1.35 cpu and 1.4 qpi... your fine upto 1.5v qpi dont go any higher though

I managed to get it stable with:

    191x21
    CPU Vcore: 1.35V
    QPI: 1.35V
    Memory multiplier 8.0 (1528mhz)

Was able to run stability tests and benchmarks just fine, my only concern is, FPS increase in games (mostly what I use PC for) is very minimal and also the load tempretures increased astonishingly.

3.6ghz with 1.3V vcore I was getting 60-65 degree loads.

4.0ghz with 1.35V vcore I am getting 80-90 degree loads.

Im gonna take it back down to 3.6, its just far to hot.

Maybe tempreture can be brought down further with more tweaking, but the lack of performance increase has made me think its hardly worth it.

Thanks for your help, least now I got some experience.
