    That is very strange that they say that the UD3P doesn't like this memory in certain slots. I had 2 sets which ran at 1080 5-5-5-15 with 2.1V without any problem. For me it was the Strap that caused problems.Using the wrong strap rendered my board useless even with one stick. But find the starp that it likes and then up the FSB. If i remember it had to be either 2.0D or 4.0D. I am sorry if my info doesnt help and because i don't have the board anymore i cant give you any specific numbers but i will upload a image showing sub-timings and voltages that i used for stock. If i used to much MCH Core it would cause instability and i actually found that all it needed to run 4 sticks was 1.34V. And that was with the cpu @ 4.1Ghz.
    I never needed to set the voltage of the ram above 2.1V and found that it worked perfectly at even 2.0V

    I missed the enabled XMP profile 1 setting. Yeah, like the others, take it off. Also, I personally don't like 3.20B SMM with the OP's settings, but the OP wanted to run at 1066mhz. If the OP still wants to run the memory at 1066mhz and the my suggestions did not bear fruit, then try setting the Drive strength to 1200mhz OC. I would have gone with 2.40B and run the memory <1066mhz with the Drive strength set at 1066mhz. If not, then 2.00B/D should do it with the Frequency Latch set to Auto. A lot of options at your disposal. Good luck.

    Hey, after many hours of various tests, I finally found stability (defined as full passes in memtest86+) using 400 (actually 401) for FSB and therefore the D memory multiplier .

    I am using BIOS FB.

    The 401 ensures you are using the 400 strap, in case of a latency, as per this post EP45-DS3R Ram Memory type? - Gigabyte - Motherboards-Memory. The 1069 mem speed is very close to rated 1066.

    Warning to any owners of a similar rig: I just could NOT get this memory stable with 333 FSB and 1066 mem speed.

    Disclosure: I have not stress tested this yet.

    You are fine using 400FSB if you wish. Using the 2.66D multiplier by definition forces a 400 strap. Even if using for example a 200MHz FSB and a 2.66D multi, the 400 strap will still be used. The advice on using 401 in Tomshardware in the post you linked to is akin to "avoiding the cracks in the pavement", ie superstitious fluff. Some boards that don't have a strap setting to change manually may act this way, but the UD3P does not. Other info in that post is in need of double checking, for example it is the Q9770 that is a single CPU native 400FSB CPU. The QX9775's are for use in pairs on a Skulltrail board.

    Good to hear you got everything working. Your system will be slightly faster with a 400FSB even if you lower the CPU multi to bring the system back to stock speed.

    Psycho, thanks for that explanation on the D ensuring the 400 strap. I only got to the 400 because I could not find a 333 strap combo that worked for this memory.

    UPDATE: I have since encountered some crashes in some intensive java apps, so I went back and tested with Memtest again and verified intermittent errors with the above setup.

    I backed off Static tRead Value to 8 on both channels and have now tested this in Prime ok.

    The only change to the settings in my post above is moving Static tRead to 8. All other settings the same and this is a good stable overclock on the cpu and using this memory at rated speed.

    I wondering if anyone was able to get their G.Skill F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK to run any faster than 1066? I was trying to push it to 1080 by setting the host frequency to 450.
