    Default EP45C-UD3R + DDR3 1600 1.65V (please help)

    Hi,

    I'm trying to set a "simple" overclock setting like this:

    E8500 (333*9.5=3150mhz at 1.225) to 400*9.5 = 3800mhz at 1.29V (i guess i could get it. I have used OCCT and finished th small/medium test easily).

    What i cant understand is why i cant set 2x2Gb DDR3 XMS3 Corsair (1600 at 1.65v) to 4 x 400 only !!!

    The only way i can boot is setting the memo to 4*333 = 1333mhz at 1.5V

    I think 4*400 isnt an overclock for this mems...

    Could any good soul here give me an idea about whats is going wrong with this memory?

    Is EP45C compatible with DDR3 1.65V default memories?

    Leave reference voltages on auto not normal, they depend on other voltage settings and auto scale them correctly, the other set manually instead normal.
    Can you provide a link to ram specs on Corsair site, or at least list the exact model. A screen capture of MemSet main(click >>) and SPD(click spd) windows will also be helpful.
    Settings are easier to read from a template than images. Use the one in this post or the one after.
    You can try a bit more MCH Core 1.24-1.26v for the DDR-1600, with the correct timings of course.

    I had to release the CAS settings from 7 to 8 and increase Vcore one step (from the settings in the snapshots above) -> The OCCT test was crashing sometimes.

    My settings now are exactly as this template. Unfortunately even with your tips i cant reach 1600 with these memos.

    I have tried the XMP setting from the BIOS as this memo have one XMP profile but nothing changed here...

    Set DRAM Termination and chanels reference auto.
    With XMP profile selected (not auto), multiplier 4.00D/4.00B (try both), and auto timings, try more MCH Core up to 1.28v.
    Ram voltage spec is 1.65v you probably should not need much more, try 1.65-1.7v.
    Try manual tRFC 90-110.

    How does DDR-1600 settings fail, no post/reboot loops, or does Windows crash?

    Always i set the memory frequency to 1600 i get 15 short beeps (or 15 / reset / 22) after boot and then an auto-reset with emergency bios settings.

    Those MemTest screens were taken using 1333 / 1.5v settings.

    Did you see that even with the XMP 1600 profile the bios think the "normal" DRAM voltage is 1.5V ??? I guess there is something (maybe hidden) set wrong with these SPD values...

    I dont know what else i can do... Maybe these memos are bad ???

    Hey Chike!!!! I got it !!!!

    Just after i sent the last post i tried the 4.00C multiplier and voi a la -> Perfect boot.

    Take a look at this:



    Then i have set:

    DRAM voltage to 1.66V
    TRFC to 88

    Now i'm goind to test the stability !!!!

    Why these multipliers are so important?.... C is for 333mhz isn't ???

    Not sure, but I think short beeps are memory related problem.
    If you could try the memory in another board you'd probably know if they are bad.

    More likely it's a compatibility issue with the board that may or not be fixed in future BIOS releases.

    You can stay with the 1333 and the 8-8-8-20 timings which is not bad.
    Try to set the lowest stable Static tRead Value for both channels and run a memory benchmark to see what performance you get.
