    Exclamation It's been a while... (EP45-U3DP)

So it's been nearly six months that I've been on the forum... To save me some time (I did search, but didn't find anything conclusive), I was wondering if someone could help me answer regarding the EP45-U3DP (v 1.1):

    1. Are the S3 sleep issues resolved with any bios update after version 8? Note that I am running a stock setup, so I'm not sure why I have the issue?

(Long story short: The issue is resuming from S3 sleep. After "resuming", most Windows functions would stall out for upwards of 3-5 minutes, such as launching programs or using Explorer, i.e. drives will not display)

    2. Proper detection of rear speakers. Often times when I plug in rear speakers, no sound will play out of them. However, after fudging around and plugging them into the "side speakers" jack, it works okay. Is this resolved with any driver or bios update?

On a side note: One thing I've noticed is that the audio output is very low. Is the SNR that low?

See sig for my setup. Thanks!

    Edit: Here's my BIOS settings:

For the sound issue about setting them as side speakers instead of rear AFAIK that's how realtek wants it done and is working as intended because my friends UD3R and my UD3P work the same on XP/Vista/7.

s3 may or may not have been fixed, dunno, dont use it.
xmp if its on auto and settings change when you disable it,board is probably reading the epp settings from your memory.
If it works for you great,or you could disable it and enter the memory settings manually.
as the above poster says on the spkrs.

What I have had to do running rear speakers and front panel headset is to connect the speakers and the headset and once they are detected properly leave them both plugged in permanently.
the plugging in and out auto detect feature has allways been bad for me ,over 3 realtek equipped boards.
To turn off the rear speaker output and switch to front panel,i use the realtek sound manager advanced settings.
