Ok ive updated the BIOS to the latest version (F13d) and ive tried a different optical cable and also a coaxial cable...and still the problem persists! Ive also tried all the different sound inputss on my AV reciever (optical & coaxial)...

Tested with music, movies and a fully updated version of Batman: Arkham Asylum. The sound still cuts out for a few milliseconds every so often.

I really dont understand whats causing it.

    Any other suggestions?

Cheers for the help so far.

Ok, i think i may have fixed it (touch wood)! The last 2 things i tried were to update the Intel INF's for the chipset and i also took out a wireless card which wasn't being used. I had installed the card a few days before installing Win 7 (version is Ultimate x64 gasan) because i had a problem with my wired connection but i sorted it so its been sitting in their doing nothing but still picking up Wireless signals as i could see them under my wired in network connections.

Personally im leaning towards it being the wifi card that was interfering with the realtek chip. Is this possible, or is it more likely to be the INF's?

    Cheers again.

try to uninstall (clean) all drivers and install the latest (driver scanner or by you) or try to pull of the wifi card (Collision) or any card except graphic or try increase a little voltage on mch or try to enable the hpet timer in bios to 64bit or try windows xp and see the deffernce or try windows 7 rtm not rc because rtm is the latest or update to the latest bios or mybe the amplifier make that damn problem
ohh man sorry about my english!!!!!!!!
