    Default GA-X58A-UD7 not booting

    Hi

I have just bought a gigabyte ga-x58a-ud7 mobo, and an intel i7 chip. When I try to turn the system on, its all new so no windows etc yet, the fans spin up, and the leds come on on the mobo, but thats about it. The screen doesnt come on and no beeps. The debug leds in the corner show 88???

I have tried reseating the cpu, graphics card, memory etc. Swapped out the memory and tried a single stick in all slots etc.

Any help would be most appeciated!

    Many thanks

Hi thanks for reading the post, I am going mad here!

The Graphics Card is a Sapphire HD5750
The hard drive is a Crucial SSD drive
    The PSU is a Kamariki 4 650W Ultra-Quiet
    The Memory is Corsair 6GB DDR3, 1600Mhz
    Chip is Intel Nehalem i7 920 S1366 2.66Ghz

I have not changed any bios settings etc, as I have not been able to get that far!!!

I have tried all three memory sticks in every slot and in every combination and it always does the same thing!

The fan seem to be spinning flat out, not sure if that help or not, but an observation anyway!

    Many thanks

I have tried the graphics card in both slots, no difference unfortunatly. Again, this computer is a laptop so cannot transfer the PSU over :(

The PSU could be dead, but it is new, and when I switch the machine on, all the fans spin etc etc? I realise that there is more to it that that though! I have seen methods of sticking paper clips into the PSU, but have not tried that!

    cheers

no it just might be incompatible,or not enuff 12v power, some psus will work fine with one mb but not with others,it cant be ram because its not booting from any slot,so i can only think psu for now,are you using 8pin cpu plug on psu? or 4pin??

hmm, I didnt realize psu would/could be incompatable!!!

Its using the 8 pin plug. I will contact the manufacturer and ask if they know anything about any incompatabilities!

I am after a nice quiet unit, do you have any suggestions?

    cheers
