    Default Ga ep45-ud3p

    Im currently running a Gigabyte EP45 UD3P motherboard rev1.6, using an Intel Q9550 CPU E0 stepping as well as Corsair Dominator DDR2 PC28500C5DF 1066 2x 2gb sticks of ram. I have my system stable overclocked at 3.8ghz. Can you guys help me out with tweaking my ram and what settings I should have set in BIOS. Any advice would be appreciated!

    Post full BIOS settings with the template in this post, a link to your memory specs, and a screen capture of MemSet main(click >>) and SPD(click spd) windows, and people will be able to advise.

    I have done a bit of research on this but im still new to the whole Overlocking scene and I was wondering if you guys can help me out. Are these the setting I should be sticking with or should I change some settings for a boost in performance/stability? What in your opinion is better for gaming performance tight timings, low frequency or loose timings high frequency?

    Your Advanced Clock Control looks high for 3.8ghz. 800-900-0-0 should do just fine up to 4.0ghz. For higher oc's try 900-900-0-50.

    Also try setting your CPU Ref-.760 or .785, MCH Ref-.80, set these values with CPU Termination/VTT at 1.20v, then raise VTT back up to desired voltage.

    MCH Reference, MCH/DRAM Reference, DRAM Termination, and Channels Reference are usually recomended to be set auto unless manually set. with normal settings it's difficult to tell what they realy set to. A screen capture of EasyTune -> Tuner -> Advanced -> Voltage tab may give more information.
    Voltages are in safe range, no problem there.

    Clock Skews usually are not require at your current FSB, or at least not that high, but if your settings are stable no problem.

    As of memory, IMO (opinions varry,) it is always a good idea to set the desired XMP profile regardless if you set timings manually or not.
    I'd leave Advanced Timings auto, aside from tRFC which you may tune for better performance.
    Static tRead 10 is the lowest possible? Try set it lower, it has significant impact on performance. Also try lower tRFC, maybe with a bit more DRAM Voltage up to manufacturer specs.
    Compare settings performance with Everest Memory benchmark, MaxxMEM² - PreView or any other.

    As alsways run your stability tests of choice to verify settings integrity after making any changes.

    Check out posts by Conners,recent and old,I believe he has the same memory cpu and board and runs 500(2000fsb) 2:00D or like 460-470 and 2:40B.

    Good advice in the above posts.

    Using 2.40B with 448MHz, Static tRead Value (tRD) = 8 or 9 should be stable. Lower will give you higher memory bandwidth.

    With 2x2GB of quality memory, tRFC = 50 - 54 should be stable, lower is better.

    Several forum members have posted gaming results (FPS) with lower memory speeds + tighter timings versus higher memory speeds + looser. Their results show that there is virtually no difference in gaming performance.

    Have you run several stability tests to ensure that your system is stable?
    If yes, which tests have you run and for how long?

    Do you have RealTemp or CoreTemp running to ensure that your cpu core temperatures are good?

    Overall, your bios settings look pretty good.
    Load Line Calibration (LLC) isn't really needed with your current settings. If you disable LLC, you'll probably need to increase CPU Vcore a bit.

    It's helpful for forum members to add their detailed hardware list in their forum signature:

    --> include your bios version
    --> preview
    --> Save when complete
