Default Ga-m68m-s2p corsair memory stick issue

    Newbie here. My build:

    Mobo- GA-M68M-S2P
    CPU- AMD PHENOM II 550
    PSU- OCZ 400W
    OS- Unbuntu v9.10
    HDD- WD 40 GB IDE
    DVD-Plextor
Memory: Corsair WIN2X2048-6400C5DHX (matched pair, ie. purchased together in package)

    Issue:

I cannot use both sticks of memory, only one. When I load both, I get a long beep when I boot up. I have not changed any settings in the bios. I've done searches for this issue but cannot find any solution. Please kindly help.TIA.

I'm not familiar with AMD setups, but loading optimized bios defaults from the main menu of the bios screen might help.
You might need to change some memory timings in the bios to use 2x1GB.

Hopefully an AMD forum member will be able to provide you with some specific suggestions.
Right now bios version F1 is the only available version for your mobo.

I am having this same issue. If any ram is inserted into ram slot 1, I get the bios dram error sound. Inserting a stick into slot 2 works fine. Updating the firmware to f5 makes no difference at all, and setting bios settings to optimized or failsafe does nothing as well. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I ended up returning both sticks to Corsair. They replaced them and they work fine now.
