    external quote
Before setting up the XFire with the cards, make sure they're working at the same Memory and GPU speed.
I guess that makes sense but I'll have to down clock the fastest to the slower one (right?..)

edit:// not sure about that. All I am finding is 2x4890 are compatible (and thats on the AMD website)

Oh:// and my motherboard isn't listed either!!!?? that can't be right,..can it?

    From Gigabyte:
    Multi-display support with ATI CrossFireX™
ATI® CrossFireX™ delivers the ultimate graphics performance for gaming enthusiasts who demand the highest frame rates without compromising on resolution.
This applies to all three UD3P boards; 1.0, 1.1, and 1.6
Check your mobo user manual for additional information.
A web search using: CrossFireX 4890 EP45-UD3P should provide specific information.

Yep, I had two 4850's running on a UD3P for over a year with no problems.

The board is Crossfire certified. No need for it to be on any kind of list. As long as you have a Crosfire certified board, any Crossfire enabled cards will work with your board. There will be some that have issues, but that's the exception, not the rule.

You can also have your cards clocked differently if you wish, however there won't be much (if any) performance gain from having one card clocked higher. Might as well set a decent clock speed that's cool, quiet and performs well then stick to it. Crossfire 4890's should perform petty well, as they're still pretty powerful cards. Plug them in, connect them with a bridge and install the latest Catalyst package and you'll be good to go.

    Now,.
    Proceeded to:
-- Benchmarks. (will post results later)
-- Played Battlefield 2 for 6 hrs no problems.

But whilst surfing web (facebook) system restarted! as in pushing reset button on case without any imput from user!

    And have had 3 Freezes!
    1. whilst on firefox
    1. whilst on desktop 2-3 mins after manual system restart.
    1. whilst playing Battlefield 2 (5 mins into actual gameplay and 1/2 hr system up time.)

I think I remember ProfJim that you had freezes on your system and this was related to "too high Vcore"
It should be noted that i needed to increase my Vcore to the above setting of 1.33750 in order to get successful results from Prime 95 as per Chike's reccommendation. What are your thoughts here??

I am currently running my system at stock 3Ghz unless gaming.
