Deafty, follow these instructions, I gave you the wrong post number.

Let's dumb down the cpu speed to eliminate memory settings as the problem
Go into the bios, load your stable 3.6450 bios profile and make the following changes:
    Code:
    CPU Clock Ratio ---------------- : [8] <-- cpu speed = 3.40GHz
    CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ------- : [425] (memory speed = 850MHz)
    System Memory Multiplier ------- : [2.00B]

    Static tRead Value ------------- : [8] (for memory channels A and B)

    CPU Vcore ----------- 1.2750* -- : [1.28750]
    CPU PLL ------------- 1.500V* -- : [1.500]
    MCH Core ------------- 1.100V -- : [1.22]
Try these settings and report if there is a normal boot or there are any boot problems.
    Don't run any stress tests.

    Ok,.

Tried settings as above (post #73)

    Failed.

Gigabyte advertisement screen messed up (see only one small strip at top of screen)
attempts reboot, no beep, attempts reboot, beep, loads defaults.

    I have reloaded stable 3.645GHz.

OK, using your stable 3.645GHz settings, increase CPU Frequency from 405 to 415MHz and try a quick reboot test.
If it fails to boot, increase CPU Vcore one click higher and try another quick boot test.
I'll be tied up for 5 - 10 minutes and will check back when I return.
Maybe it's time for everyone to hold hands and pray :(

    And the prayers were answered.

    Stable 3.645GHz settings loaded
Changed CPU Frequency from 405MHz to 415MHz

    Looking good....
....and bad, the System temperature at 47o (C) is awfully high.
I have quite a few EP45 screen-shots saved on my system, but none of them (so far) shows System temps.

Do you have a small desktop fan that could blow cooling air into your computer case after you have removed your left side case?

Let's bribe jake8078 and see what HWMonitor shows when his system is idle.
If he won't help us I'll automatically flunk his QX6950 test

I'm thinking of a 9" or 12" fan set to low or medium to really circulate the air inside your computer case.
