Your issue sounds like a dead or dying CMOS battery, but could also be the PSU is not able to handle things.

Can you switch out the CMOS battery with a known working one and see if the issues persist?

You aren't unplugging it from the wall each night are you?

I am having the exact issue described in this thread.

unlikely to be battery issue as clock reset date/time does not happen if EUP is off and machine unplugged from wall.

I would really like to be able to use EUP.

as suggested earlier, this does not happen with normal shutdown and restarts only long 'cold boots' eg overnight.

also: after this happens if I shutdown- the machine automatically starts up again after 5 seconds.

the only way to stop this loop is hit cmos reset on the back panel... I hardly think a motherboard battery is going to cause that- and many others in this thread have reported it too.

Are you using the latest beta BIOS? If not please update to see if it still happens.

I just flashed to f7p then.

    will report the results shortly.

I can confirm the issue occurred with f7p:

EUP OFF overnight 6 hours unplugged from wall - remembered all clock settings
EUP ON shutdown for 3 hours plugged into wall and forgot time + boot fail

What PSU are you using, and can you test with another?

I will have to test this myself, I have before but not for long periods. I will try to remember to test this for you overnight this weekend using the BIOS I am on now F7e

sorry the above should say "f7p not f7m"!

thanks cvhamp- I know other people have this problem as well but I am nbot sure gigabyte consider it a priority- there are many energy conscious people who would be very grateful!

    thanks

-TO TEST- i recommend leaving it in eup mode overnight then cold booting
