    Thanks for the info.
I did find a 'pencil mod' for my motherboard, seems to have great results...

Would you recommend this at all?
I'm also not quite sure how to do it, I assume i just take a no2 pencil and make as much contact as I can between the 2 points?

I have no knowledge about such a sophisticated stuff.
The question I would have asked myself if I were you is: if it is so simple why have not GB engineers implemented it in the board?

[Ctrl] + [F1] should be pressed from the main bios screen.
I don't think that Load Line Calibration (LLC) is available in your bios.

Quad versus dual cores usually differ in reference volt settings.
With quad cores, MCH Ref and/or CPU Ref settings are often increased (using the described procedure in post #10).

If you will post your bios settings (step #3 from the link in post #2) we can better help you.

It helps us when you include more info in your forum signature:
    motherboard revision #
    bios version
    psu brand/model
    cpu cooler brand/model
link to your memory's specifications (embedded in the ram description)

With this information in your signature, we can quickly find the information we need without searching through the thread.
