Default Which H5x mobo would you pick?

    *$153 GA-H57M-USB3 http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=3307
    *$162 P7H55D-M EVO http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...rsk&templete=2

Trying to decide between these two...
    It's for a MythTV BE+FE + Boxee + XBMC, & maybe a NAS.

Based on Anand's articles & some correspondence w/the author....
    http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3732
    http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3748&p=1
The two Asus boards are better geared for more serious CPU OC's.
But the GA-H55M-USB3 has a slight edge for memory OC/timing...

Have any of you had experience with one or both?
    Ideally with one of the G.Skill 2x 2G DD3-1600Mhz! (I think I'm settled on the Eco CL7)

    Thoughts/advice/experiences greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Good-night.

i cant speak to either of those two boards but ive got the H55M-UD2H and g.skill 1600 cl9's and this board with an i3-530 will do 20x235@4700 DDR3-1880 9-9-9-24 with ease.
so i would think about getting the gigabyte board or if you dont need usb 3.0
maybe get the UD2H as it seems to keep up with some of the higher priced P55's
    GIGABYTE H55M-UD2H
    INTEL i3-530
    G.Skill Ripjaws ddr3-1600 cl8

Hmm I've heard the top-end GB H5x's don't scale as well as decent p55 boards.

Maybe because they've got some extra stuff hanging-off them but more-or-less the same voltage regulation as the -UD2H
If you're saying yours seems to be as versatile as a p55 boards, maybe i need to consider it...

Hmm but i really do want PCIe 4x & USB3... decisions, decisions!

    Thanks.

Keep in mind that USB3 and Sata3 PCI-e adapter cards can be installed at a later time and these cards might offer better performance.

Got neither in the end, almost settled on both at one time or another.
But the P7H57D-V EVO has proven to be the most suitable overall for me.

The only thing that sux is that it's ATX...
But I couldn't compromise on better power delivery (compared to H57M-USB3) & a 2nd PCIe greater than 1x (compared to P7H55D-M EVO).

I had a pile of other rationales based on research & picking some tech writers brains, but it's too lengthy to explain.
Especially considering no-one seemed really interested in the first place, LOL.

    Thanks everyone for your input!
