    Use of various Strap/multi combo's often come down more to memory than anything else, some memory just wont do anything near what others will with similar specs.

    Ya you are right though, if that board has issues or does not like his memory then the problems would continue most likely.

    Sorry for the way that sounded, I read it out of context I guess and it looked like your comment was all alone and said 8400 or UD3P can only do 435. It's the morning, what can ya do?

    No problem, it sounded like you misunderstood my statement.

    The OP and I are using the same memory, and his Q9550 also uses the same Mushkin 1066 memory.
    With my E6550, I could boot and run stability tests up to 527MHz, but I never could get my system fully stable with with 495MHz or higher speeds.
    Most E6550 systems have a maximum o/c at 3.40 - 3.50GHz.

    I've got to wonder if buying a new or used E8400 is worth it just to get an additional 15% overclock.
    Maybe he would be better off with a low cost i3 or i5 setup with DDR3 memory. Just a thought.

    I tried, could not sleep at all tonight.

    You do also have to keep in mind, no matter what we tell people or how hard we try to help them, we are not there or not trying the hardware ourselves so it could always still be lack of user experience and not the hardware in question. This kind of sucks, cause often you know if the people we help were next door we could get them going within minutes!

    I am unimpressed with i3/i5 /end comment

    Who or what is an OP?! If FSB 450 was my goal I think we got there. Give it enough juice and it will run. Not sure if I what to run at this voltage 24-7 though. Thought you might want to look at the OP's current status. I will go back and try 2.00B with a tRD of 9 just to see if it will run. I don't think you want a blow by blow on what it took to get to this screen dump - wasn't pretty. What do you guys think?

    Which voltage are you warry about? All look pretty much decent.
    Are the 55c max temps for the IBT run?
    If 2.00B works you can try 2.40B for DDR-1080.

    Setting your driving strength profiles will help too, and you should be able to use tRD 9 on the 2.00D mutli

    Enable LLC and you may be able to use less Vcore as well, because under load it wont drop so much

    MCH is the only voltage that looks high to me really, vcore is a bit high but nothing to worry about and like I said I bet you can lower with LLC

    Your Mushkin's are warrantied for 2.1V, in case you did not know that.

    Some brands or models of memory run best with somewhat lower voltages than the maximum voltage spec from the manufacturer.
    My system seems happiest with 2.02 volts, up to 1100MHz speeds.
    MCH Core = 1.26 or 1.28 is stable on my system, but 1.28 volts feels "better".

    For some reason, your system needs tRD to be 1 step higher than normal with the 2.00 B and D memory straps.

    I used "OP" because it helps prevent embarrassing errors when I'm posting in several similar threads at the same time.

    Oops, this slow learner "OP" made another mistake. It was not the memory that caused the 2.00D 9 versus 10 tRD issue. I set the tRd to 9 and ran IBT for 10 passes successfully. The only difference was the maximum temperature went up from 55C to 56C. The maximum GFlops went from 24.02 to 24.09 and the maximum time went from 39.2 to 39.081. Don't look too significant but I guess the tRD of 9 makes more sense to you guys. I stand by the 2.00B tRD 9 failure.

    tRD of 9 isn't really the fail on 2.00B, it's just your memory does not like to run that strap at your FSB is all. Some will, some wont.
