    Chike, SORRY about that, I misunderstood your question since I had not changed anything concerning DRAM and yet you are correct ET6 shows MCH/DRAM Reference and DRAM Termination at .900v on the first screen shot and .850v on the second screen shot even though the setting in the BIOS was 1.000v?! I changed them to AUTO and ET6 now shows .900v again. Why the difference between the BIOS and ET6? However, I ran OCCT @425 FSB with the AUTO settings and it stopped with a Core 0 error at ~19 minutes. Maybe I should manually set them higher that the AUTO generates? Like I said to ProfJim, the only thing that has had any positive effect so far was the change to tRFC (AUTO to 48). Any and all suggestion appreciated. I'm about ready to hit the buy Mushkin 1066 button.

    ET6 show the reference values for default values, meaning CPU & MCH Reference for 1.2v VTT, and MCH/DRAM Refere DRAM Termination and Channel Reference(s) for 1.8v DRAM Voltage (1.5v for DDR3).
    For 2.1v DRAM Voltage their "default" value should have been 1.05v (50%).

    I am not quite sure what your goal is right now, to find a stable settings for a certain CPU drequency/FSB, or to tune memory performance?

    Ok, Chike I'm now in your league, I hope. I removed two of the sticks of memory and at least for now the system acts like it should. For some reason with 4 sticks the BIOS did not calculate the Reference Voltages correctly and even when I set them manually the system was unstable. After removing the two sticks it does what it is supposed 2.1V DRAM = 1.05V for the MCH/DRAM Reference, DRAM Termination, Channel A and B Reference. OCCT ran to completion at 425 FSB. I don't know if it is absolutely stable yet but it sure is an improvement. If I want 4GB of memory I will have to go to the two stick variety.

    ProfJim, if I can get this thing to run @ FSB 450 with the 2 sticks of Corsair memory I'll do the extra credit assignment and plug in the Mushkin memory and see what happens.

    Chike, any idea on what the maximum FSB speed your memory will handle? Seems like I'm running into problems at 435 FSB.

    My memory can run at 1066 with 2.1v DRAM Voltage in BIOS, 2.125v in PC Health, with 5-5-5-15 timings, not tested for stability.
    For current OC it is set as DDR-812, 2.0v DRAM Voltage, 2.02v in PC Health, 4-4-4-12 timings.

    Best I can tell with 4 sticks running at 4-4-4-12 the max for my system is ~840. I let it run Prime95 for 6+ hours at that setting with no errors. With just 2 sticks running at 4-4-4-12 the max is ~860. When I go to two sticks at 5-5-5-15 I have not found the top yet.

    So... I'm back at 4 sticks with the 5-5-5-15 timings and looking for the maximum FSB. The question to all is - since the system will OC at a much higher FSB with the slower memory timings will I notice a difference in the real world between 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-12?

    Just an aside - I don't know if it is the IP35 Pro MB versus the EP45-UD3P MB or the Artic Cooling MX3 thermal paste but OCCT reported the Max temperature was 54C @ FSB 400 and Vcore of 1.35V with the IP35 Pro MB and the Zalman cooler with the Zalman thermal paste. OCCT reported the Max temperature was 49C @ FSB 420 and a Vcore of 1.375V with the EP45-UD3P MB and the Zalman cooler and the MX3 thermal paste! Both OCCT runs were for 60 minutes. Apples and oranges but one heck of a difference.

    ProfJim and Chike, lots of questions in last post - no response?

    ProfJim, you were correct I went nuts and bought another set of the Mushkin 996599 memory and it tops out between 880 and 890 with the 4-4-4-12 everything else set to AUTO. I'm now on the 5-5-5-15 roll and need a little guidance. First, why are the SPD defaults that set up in the BIOS different between the E6750 system and the Q9550 system? Should I have done a load defaults went I switched memory? Should I plug in the same memory settings you gave me for the Q9550?

    I don't understand the questions about the difference in temperatures between boards, and SPD.
    Are the systems you compare has the same processore and memory?

    SPDs of different memory are different, it is what they are made for, so the system will set the correct timings.
    For example you can see that the Corsair modules has a very low tRFC 42 while most modules has tRFC 51/52 for DDR-800.
    Nothing you need to worry about.
