    Default HD Audio problem GA-X58A-UD3R

If I hook the front panel cable for HD audio on the CM690ii case to the mobo, and then hook up headset to front ports, the HD audio panel continually flickers back and forth between "mic" and "headset" detection dialogs. Tried another headset and it behaves the same.

When I hook up the AC97 split to the mobo input it behaves correctly.

I want to be able to have my headset up front with my speakers hooked up in back, that is the reason I like the HD audio.

Case, cable, or mobo, any ideas?

    thanks in advance!

Are you on the newest drivers? Can you use the the front panel HD audio of another case and plug it into your case?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the latest drivers, no luck. I do not have another case to try it with. CM has said they will send me a new front panel. You cannot plug anything into the front with the case's HD audio plugged into mobo. If you plug the AC97 in, it is fine. I have tried turning the front panel auto-detect off as well. It sends the HD audio panel into a frenzy.

It probably is the defective front panel. It could also be the board itself or a software issue, but the most likely problem is the front panel.
