    Righto folks,

    Couple of things.

I've now had my board finally replaced, having RMA'd it twice. However, it's now installed and running and would appear that it now works.

I had to remove the old drivers and reinstall for it to work, however I'd done this previously to no effect, so I'm sure that there was something wrong with the board.

Gigabyte released a new driver bundle on the 1st April which I suggest everyone upgrade to. I'm currently testing it and will also test the new 2.46 driver from Realtek. to ensure that if they have fixed whatever software issues they may or may not have had remain fixed.

Considering I told Gigabyte last December that this was potentially a driver/software issue is rather frustrating.

Has everyone that posted now resolved there issues?

    Thanks,
    K

Nice to hear you finally got the issue resolved, though it was weird your old board did it, mine was fixed with the update.

Sorry if this is grave digging but is there any way to resolve this issue without an RMA?

I seem to be having the exact same problem, even with the updated drivers and everything.

I just dont want to go through the trouble of taking everything off the mobo and then waiting weeks to get it back or have gigabyte say that there is nothing wrong with it when there evidently is, is there any software fix to this or would using ac'97 fix it and still allow for switching between the regular speakers and a headphone combo?

Did you try a clean install yet, then use the proper suggested drivers mentioned in this thread?

Yeah as lsdmeasap said, remove driver (uninstall), reboot, safe mode, run the driver cleaner mentioned previously, run CCleaner (just in case), reboot, install R2.48 or the official driver from GBT. If this still doesn't fix the problem then I'd say RMA... good luck, it took me two attempts.
