Update..Nvideo did not detect an Nforce bord on their site. I realized it is because I have an older Nforce 3 chipset. I did find some drivers manually, but they are from 2005.

That computer is never on the net. Once I put it on, it is uploading tons of security updates and is upgrading to SP3. It is currently updating everything.

I guess my next move will be to Flash the BIOS and update it.

I am going to buy a new power supply, because I feel like my current one is one source of my problems.

The Device manager has unknown devices also stil...so far.

Under Device Manager, and right below the Network Adapters is a tab that says other devices.

Unfolding it has Ethernet Controller, Other PCI bridge device, RAID Controller, SM Bus controller, Uknown Device.

I feel like this may be the root of everything possibly when I see words like "other PCI bridge device". Can anyone help me with this one?

It sounds like you don't have the full "chipset" drivers. You should be able to download the most recent version of chipset drivers from the GB web page for your motherboard, making sure that the mobo version is the same. There are 6 different K8Ns motherboards listed on the GB website.
You might be able to download the chipset drivers directly from Nvidia.

I went to NVidia and Gigabyte. It seems the last chipset drivers are from 2005. I DLd them and also installed them. I also saw a RAID/SATA driver. One was a RAID utility and one says NVIDIA nForce3 250 / Ultra Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows setup to read from floppy).

So I am guessing I should install them all? Is there anything to know about the boot from floppy option or can I just put it on my USB stick?

Don't install the Raid driver unless you need it. I'm not familiar with the Nvidia raid/AHCI installation, but it's a PITA to install and use the Intel Raid driver after your operating system is installed.
It might not hurt to install the unneeded drivers, but my approach is to only install drivers that I need, and to disable any unneeded devices in the bios, such as 1394 or Lan drivers if they are not needed.
You might need to search the web for information or tutorials for Nvidia chipset installation.

It might be best to image your boot partition before you apply the chipset updates, just in case the updates lead to any problems.

Well I updated the chipset drivers only. I noticed the the unknown devices shrunk a little.

I see a new one called NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator.

Still unknown as Other Devices : Ethernet Controller, RAID Controller and Unknown Device.

Windows updated a lot. SP3 is currently installing. I am hoping maybe it can detect my drivers or help my computer run better while I do all this other stuff.

If you're not using the RJ-45 LAN port, disable it in the bios and this might remove the Network Bus Enumerator and Ethernet Controller from the windows Device Manager.

Done. It is now down to RAID Controller and Unknown Device.

SP3 is installed also. Everything is working BUT the firewire interface. I may have to guy buy a new PCI 1394a interface, and also upgrade my power supply.

Windows might be able to update the missing drivings by going into the device manager Properties display and clicking on update driver.
Glad to hear that you're making good progress.

Ok, well things got worse :( I out the new stuff in and they worked great until the computer froze up for no reason. After restarting it, it would not load and just made repeated beeps. It did not stop until I shut it off. I tried resetting the RAM, and I switched back to my old PSU. Still the same thing. I am wondering if it is my CPU. I took a pic of it without the fan on top so you could see the thermal paste..maybe it was put in wrong?

I't a bit strange, the print on the heatsink looks great, but there's that huge empty spot on the CPU itself. Does it look like there's has been paste on the empty looking spot on the CPU? The pics are too low quality to really tell.

Have a look at the instructions from arcticsilver.com, they're pretty in depth and should answer all your questions regarding TIM application (no matter what brand you're using).
