Hmm, well I am not sure where you are at with them. Mind posting the settings you are trying to use to get 777-24 working, it may be possible but maybe not?

OK Guys, I really need some help here. I'm not trying to go 4gig, 3.5/3.7 is good enough for me. My problem is high temps. My idle temps are around 45 and my northbridge temp is like 57!

In addition, I really need help with this one....

Uncore Frequency .......................... 3200hz (is set to AUTO as above) << Set manually, 2x memory multi or above. Often at high Blck 2x +1 or 2x +2 is better (I use 2x +2 most often). Auto is using x19 which is too much (x20)
This is the way I understand it... If my memory is running at 1600MHz, (which is a multi of 10) then the Uncore Frequency should be 2 times the memory multi, which in my case would be 20. Is this correct!???

    Here's my current BIOS settings....

    Advanced CPU Features:
    CPU Clock Ratio ................................ [x21]

What are your ambient temps? If they are high then your idle temps will be high. How is the cable management in your case? How is the airflow in your case? I have my c0 920 @4ghz and I am idling at 47C in my cosmos 1000 case but with 28C ambient and the noctua D14. Granted my case has bad airflow even with aftermarket fans. I'm no expert on the 920 OCing but your setup and system looks ok. Just depends on the case and your HSF. IF you get a Mega, TRUE, or the beast, Noctua D14 (if it fits in your case) then you will probably get better temps.

What are your load temps by the way?
    920 @3.8GHz(181x20) C0 @1.23-1.25V, currently @4ghz 1.35V, Turbo on, HT-on, giga UD4P, 3x2GB Gskill, EVGA GTX 295, Noctua D14, Cosmos 1000 case

I ran prime 95 for 3 and a half hours with the current settings and the load temps avaraged 70c. I know that's good, but....

As for my cable management.... you can call me anal, it's good. I absolutely hate bad cable management!!! As for my PC case, it's an Antec P182. My ambient room temps are around 70F. So....

You can check this single post of my thread here - Experience with Gigabyte motherboards? - Page 2 - Windows 7 Forums. It has an image of the inside of my case.

I'm just wondering if there's anything else I can do to those settings to further lower my temps. Also, are those settings "correct". Yeah Prime 95 ran for three hours without issue, but...

    Let me know. Thanks.

you can set uncore to 21x also 2xram multi+1 or+2 i found +1 to be more stable, also use windows power saving balanced profile to lower idle temps and disable c1e in the bios,it does the same job as c1e.........my hottest core is 43c -39c on coolest core atm with an ambient temp of 21c/70f

You have uncore thoughts right, I think I said that when you were using 8 memory multi, for which 19 uncore would be too much.

Do you have different cooling on the NB, or stock? Just checking

Try using 1.1-1.14 IOH Voltage and see if you are still stable, if so good as this will lower that temp.

Settings look fine, and you can use 20-22 uncore now :)

Thanks guys, sorry for getting back to you so late.

I set the uncore x21, disabled C1E, and lowered my IOH voltage to 1.1v. Ran Prime 95, system crashed after about 2 hours into it, so I may need to raise the IOH voltage back to 1.2. As for temps there was really no big change in CPU idle 43-46. As for nothbridge, it dropped from 57 to 51 so...

One thing I noticed is that though I have high idle temps, my Prime 95 load temps don't go that drastically high from them, today they avaraged 72c. I'm convinced that my Zalman CPU cooler isn't getting the job done. That's ok for now as I'll be replacing it within the next two weeks.

Thanks Lsdmeasap for letting me know my settings are in line, I needed to know that; and thanks for confirming my understanding of the uncore settings.

    Thanks guys.
