MCH Core 1.4 is not very kosher.
tRFC 13? This is totally unkosher, not for passover or any other day of the year :-)

sorry about that, the ratio is 9*333.

I'll change the memory settings and see if that helps.

haha! what would you recommend for the tRFC? i just pulled that number from the EPP profile? I appreciate your feedback!

And i did get the 1.4 number from the g.skill forums.

tRFC in EPP is 68, tWR is 13, so maybe it's just a mistake in the template? Auto settings would ptobably be fine, maybe 70-72 if not.

Well we are not G.Skill and we do care about your system. MCH Core "absolute max" according to intel is 1.21v, I wonder what would they say over volting their ram to 2.29v. Overvolt may be rquired just no need to over do it.

With 8GB of quality 1066 memory, tRFC set to the pre-programmed 533 SPD setting sometimes is too tight.
tRFC = 78 is probably a bit loose, but it's easy enough to tighten it after the system is stable.

From the G.Skill web page for your memory:
*G.Skill guarantees 2 Dimms Dual channel operation would reach announced specification.
They are one of the few memory vendors that posts this realistic statement.

Thanks guys. I just did an hour of OCCT with 72 tRFC and 1.28v MCH.

The system is also no longer freaking out when I reboot

Going to take prime for a nice long ride now just to make sure everything is nifty.

I tell you, this forum is absolutely fantastic. Should be part of the product features when you buy a Gigabyte board haha!

    Don't post praise, send money!!
    Loosening tRFC probably helped.
MCH Core that is too high or too low will cause instability and/or boot loops.

Glad to hear that you're making progress.

    Hey prof, just an update:

OCCT ran fine, but when I do a prime95 run around 6-10 hours my screen freezes up and the system locks. I'm currently at 72 trfc and am going to bump up the MCH from 1.28 to 1.30. I'm hoping this is just a ram setting and nothing to do with the processor :( Prime95 blend is correct no?

    Thanks!

If MCH does not help, try a small bump to Vtt or VCore as it sounds like you are very close.

Are you using tRTP 4 or 5, if not try 5 first for 8GB

If possible, let us know the FFT size in the Prime95 test that generates errors or freezes your system.
Let us know which OCCT and Prime95 tests you're running and for how long.
After your current test completes, post your latest bios settings and screen-shot (ET6, Memset, etc).
