Bad news: even though I reduced my clock to 435x8 and increased VTT to 1.50V, it still crashes after 5 hours of prime95 FFT with a 0x0124 error again.

Good news: I changed my CPU ref to 0.7415 (of VTT = 1.2V) then set VTT back to 1.50V and it runs Prime95 for also 17 hours!! I think I'm having a stable clock now. Do you think I should try to lower my VTT to 1.48V and tweak the CPU Ref?

I'm gonna tighten my timings and test it with memtest86+ now. (Or should I do an Intel Burning Test first, before tightening my timings?)

No one knows how long CPU's live? WAY LONGER than you want to keep them though!

I am still using a P4 and Celeron from 10 years ago, that I have frozen many times (Dry Ice) and gave TONS of volts.

Lets guess 25 years normal use, if you overclock/overvolt to safe ranges that comes down to 23 years, if you use higher voltages maybe 20 years, extreme voltages maybe 15-20. This is just a guess, but I can say for sure it will long outlast your desire to upgrade and purchase something newer/faster. Using off balanced voltages as I mentioned (Vtt higher than Vcore) may kill the CPU quicker than any of that though, if used for long periods it could be killed within a year or less. This is not a 99% sure thing though and only happens in certain instances, sometimes, when pushed very hard the wrong way.

Now with newer CPU's such as the 45NM ones, this can have adverse affects much quicker than your 65nm CPU.

It will surely last 3 years without issue and then 10+ for your sister on Facebook

Yes, with those changes I would continue trying to lower the Vtt and if no luck try tweaking the CPU Ref and or MCH Ref a bit more until you find the sweet spot.

Yes it is a bit strange.
When I in the OC process I always boot twice, the first time I go into MIT to verify that I have not missed a silent multi-boot and that I don't get the red warning so the settings I boot with are actually what I set them to be.

46 GFlops with 2/4GB for your current OC are excelent, so that probably rules out too low vcore.

I wouldn't call it stable if it's BSODing.
Like Lsdmeasap said, VTT is high, I would try lowering it.

    Hello,

    Good news:
    - I managed to reduce my VTT to 1.42V and CPU Ref to 0.7415 (of 1.2) and it ran Prime95 Blend test for 12 hours, IBT 15 passes no problem! Before, I was always increase the CPU Ref from 0.76 and it's not stable. Never know that I can also reduce it.

    Bad news:
    - IBT reaches 77c LOL. (I was holding my hands LOL)
    - I have serious problem with my memtest disc. The version is memtest86+ 4.11 in the lastest Hiren Boot Iso. When I tested it the first time, it ran fine for 12 hours. But then, when I tested it again, with the same BIOS setting, it threw out tons of errors and friezed after just 3 seconds. Strangely, that was the setting that ran IBT 15 passes and Prime95 test for 12 hours. Also, that's a very relax setting (555-15 all advance timings loosed). In addition, when I pressed C and then 7 in memtest (restart memtest), it showed different value of CAS each time! Like 5-5-5-15 or 11-8-7-2 or 55-45-xx-xx which is really strange. I really don't understand what is going on because I get different results each time I start memtest. In memtest, the speed of the L2 Cache is different too. Sometimes it shows about 23000MBps, sometimes it shows about 8000MBps.

I'll try to make a USB memtest (maybe my DVD drive is faulty?). May you guys tell me other alternatives to memtest also? Just a few days ago, memtest ran just fine for everything. Or am I missing anything here?

It is strange. Do you have any stutter in audio or games, mouse movement?

No I haven't. I played Dragon Age Origins last night with 3DS Max in background and everything was fine. I mean, I saw no problem in windows so far, only with memtest86+.

    This is my current settings:

A picture worth 1000 words. So here I am giving you my 9000 words essay :P:
1> first time, no timing change (the same to my last posted BIOS here). It runs without error. L2 Cache is 23181 MB/s. And the funny thing is FSB is 437 MHz! How could that happen? CAS is correct though. Memory speed is 4273 MB/s.

2> Then I press C, then 7 to restart memtest (not restart computer). This time, the memory speed increases to 5595 MB/s! (woa). And the FSB return to 435 MHz.

3> Then I press C, then 7 to restart memtest (not restart computer). This time, the CAS shows 57-15-15-63 (WTF?).

4> Then I press C, then 7 to restart memtest (not restart computer). This time, the CAS shows 11-8-7-2 (WTF 2nd)

5> Then I press Esc to restart the computer. Run memtest again. And this time, it freezes.

6> Then I press the reset button on the computer because I can't do anything else. Run memtest again. And this time, it shows tons of errors. L2 speed is 23046 MB/s (correct), FSB 435 Mhz (correct). CAS 5-5-5-15 (correct).

7> Soon after that, it hangs, showing this screen.

8> Then I press the reset button on the computer because I can't do anything else. Run memtest again. And this time, it shows tons of errors. The L2 Cache speed is 8426 MB/s (incorrect).

9> Soon after that, it hangs, showing this screen.

10> After that I press the reset button on the computer, and my computer cannot even POST. After waiting for my computer to boots for 5 times. I decide to turn off the PSU.

11> It POST fine. I press Del to check if there is any red message box inside MIT. There is none.

    12> I'm here posting LOL.

Why tRFC so high? You need 64 for 500MHz and you are only at 435MHz.
Just for the kicks, set XMP to profile 1, tRFC 60-64 or and see if it makes things better.
Which multiplier do you use the B or D?

    Hello,

That was the value lsdmeasap gave me a while ago (check the previous pages of this thread). He told me to loose my timings so I could make sure my RAM is not in the equation.

Here is my saved MAIN settings, before any changes or testings.

I have just did a few more tests and the results are interesting.
1> Set tRFC to 64: error like picture 6 last post
2> Set Memory Multiplier to 2.00D: error like picture 6 last post
3> Set XMP to profile1 and tRFC to 64: hangs like picture 5 last post
4> Load Baseline profile: tested 3 times, 2 times errors like picture 6 last post, 1 time hangs.
5> Load Optimized Settings, then set first boot device to CD-Room: tested 3 times, 3 times errors like picture 6 last post.

So I guess... memtest86+ doesn't love my computer :P. And although all of the errors, my windows is still running fine. I don't understand.

    Do you have any suggestion?

Don't Windows 7 has a built in memory test? Can you try that?

I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic with the above BIOS settings and there is no error. Should I depend on it while I tightening my timings? Because without memtest86+, I don't know how to test my timings settings.

Bummer. Have you tried running memset from a bootable USB key yet?
