    I bought this system about a year ago:

    I overclocked it to 3.2GHz. However, time goes by and my greedy increases . So I decide to try to push it a bit higher. Althought I spend a day tweaking around, I cannot go pass 400MHz FSB and I don't know why (I'm just a novice overclocker to be honest).     Well first I would suggest you update to a new BIOS, many fixes and memory improvements have been made since the BIOS you are using now.

    If you simply don't want to update that is fine, we can still help, but it is advised to update to the latest.

    Before anything else, the answer to your random question is: rgb (51, 51, 51)

    8GB may be your issue, pushing them past 800Mhz at 444-12 may be causing some problems and you may need to use 544-12 or 555-12/15

    Thank you for your reply. I'll update my BIOS tomorrow. I don't feel like update it now when I'm sleepy :P. Sleepiness can kill your board haha.

    I tried your settings and it can boot into windows. However, it fails the small FTT test after a few seconds. It survives the Blend test for a minutes before throwing out an exception (Windows say it idoes not respond).

    I tried 2.00B with static tRead value of 8 and 9 but it cannot even post.

    Then I use 2.00D and tried to increase the MCH to 1.30V. This time it survives the small FTT for about a minute and then throws an error.

    How do you know that it's the CPU or RAM that throws the error in prime95?

    The maximum temperature is 59 degree C. Oh, and I notice that although I set the core voltage to 1.425V. It appears on CPU-Z as only 1.328 (sometimes 1.312V) under load. I think the v-drop or v-droop is too much right?

    Tried to reduce the FSB to 415MHz and small FTT is running fine so far.

    Sounds like you should stick with 2.00D then, at least for now anyway.

    Some memory just wont run properly if you are not on the correct strap, it's not much of a difference anyway these days and some instances worse to use a lower strap than you are running FSB-wise.

    Ya, Took me a minute to find it, it's controlled in the CSS not HTML. I used Firefox Web Developer and MODIv2 to find it

    Ohh, wait. Actually I was lost! I thought you were asking the color of the actual font on the sentence you wrote asking. I was unaware of any forum imposed random questions, since I have been a member so long I never see them.

    Anyway, that is the actual color code for the font the whole forum main reply text is using, so if the question you ask about is the same then that is right but I doubt it is actually asking you to know what rgb color code the forum is using.

    Hello,

    I'm sorry I was such a fool :D. When I edit my last post to include that the actual voltage in CPU-Z seems too low I realize I didn't enable Load-Line Calibrate. Now CPU-Z reports 1.392V. And the small FTT test is running fine without error. Do you think that I should try to push this to 3.6Ghz?

    P.S: about the color: when I post something, there is a Random Question above my post that I have to answer in order to post. Currently I think this forums have 2 questions:
    - What is the current year?
    - What is the font color of this text?

    I still not succeed in finding the answer for the second question :(. So my only solution is to press Submit many times until it randoms to the first question..

    3.6 may be possible, but you might need a bit more voltage than 1.39 under load so don't be surprised if you do.

    Ahh, thanks! Ya I almost missed what you meant until I was rereading your first post again. I am not sure what the answer should be, the code I gave you is the exact code used to render the page. Actually it is rgb(51, 51, 51) (No space between as I put above).

    I say silver or gray/grey as well for a normal answer. The question may have been made with the previous board skin though, and not sure but I believe it was black text.

    With the following setting. It appears to be "temporary" stable at 440x8 (I only run 15 minutes small FTT). However, at 445x8 it's no longer stable. The temperature under load is 65 degree Celcius. Room ambient temperature is 26 degree Celcius.

    So may you give me any suggestion? Should I stop pushing or try to make it further? Is there any room for optimization here?

    440 May be good, more is just going to increase your temps for sure.

    You may be able to tighten down some ram timings once you are sure your 440 is stable, decide if you want to remain there and if so then test it for a while then I will advise you on some memory timings you can try to lower

    You can probably lower your ICH Core and I/O now though, Core maybe 1.1-1.16 would be fine, and I/O 1.5-1.57

    Hello,

    Unfortunately, my previous setting can only keep 440x8 stable for an hour so I might need your help here.

    Because 440x8 is not stable, I tried to lower the FSB to 435x8 and it runs the small FFT for 8 hours straight without error.

    This morning I decide to tight down the 435x8 a bit by reducing CoreV, VTT, PLL one at a time to

    ICH I/O……………….....1.500V............: 1.570V <-- change as u suggest. Will lower it to 1.5V later
    ICH Core…………...……1.100V............: 1.100V <-- change as u suggest.
    Because I can reduce the VTT and PLL to the minimum of your suggestion, I think that the low Vcore causes the error on 440x8 setting. However, I need your comment on this. If I set the Vcore to 1.425V then CPU-Z show 1.392V. If I set the Vcore to 1.4125V then CPU-Z show 1.372V.

    Should I accept the current state of 435x8 or try to push it stable with 440x8?
