    Default EP45-DS5 with Q6600

    hi seniors
i want to ask about my oc setting on my mobo, is it good or not? my vcore is 1.4875 to go 410*8, if i set to 420 it needs 1.5++ to stable, what should i do to get higher fsb with less vcore. the idle temp is about 47 degree and load temp is about 67 degree.

    this is my setting:

You need more Vtt, maybe 1.35-1.45, then you can use less Vcore.

You may also need more MCH and dimm

I would keep MCH under 1.3, around 1.2-1.26 is what you will likely need for 4GB

Vtt, you should keep under 1.5 or so. It should also be kept under Vcore amount. You may need 1.3-1.38 for 3.2Ghz, more for higher

Vdimm all depends on your memory, I'd need to see a link to it or the model # to tell you what they warranty the memory to. Normally you may need 2.0-2.1 or so, I just mentioned that in case your memory should be 2.1, you may just need more Vtt and MCH is all.

ok then i should try to reduce my vcore and try to increase the vtt amd mch, i'm using team memory 4gb kir pc8500 CL6, this is the link

I'd say leave your Vcore for now, lower that last.

Ya, go ahead and set MCH to 1.2-1.24, then work on tweaking Vtt until you get a stable amount. Then later you can try lower Vcore

Thanks for the link, looks like your memory is warrantied for 2.0V. Check PC health section after setting 2.0V and rebooting to BIOS and see what amount that 2.0V setting gives you, it may be less or more.

that's all i've got, actually my target is 3.6ghz with 8x multiplier, but i think it will be more vcore
my question is, what should i do to go 3.6ghz? is my system has reach the maximum OC? or maybe u can give me some example setting :D
    i really appreciate it. if u don't mind :D

    thank u master

Yes, 3.6 will need more voltages and may not be possible. Not all Q6600 will do 3.6Ghz without crazy voltages.

Try this though and see if you can get it to boot, stability aside for now.

i've tried your setting, and it couldn't boot up. i think 410x8 is the max fsb for daily, thank u for the setting master. i guess 3280Mhz is enough for my system
hope for the next upgrade i'll get a better processor :D

Ya, not all Q6600 will do 3.6 within safe voltage ranges.

3.2 is a good safe place to run though. You may be able to get 3.4 working, did you try near there?
