Only USB devices i have are a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, and a wireless usb dongle (my mate is wired)

Are you saying you get the powering off / warning on stock settings? I dont have that issue, only when overclocked. As for the "C1" bit, are you reading that of the lcd on the mobo? If so i cant see mine as the 5970 is rather large and covers that area

    Thanks for your reply

I am very frustrated. My issue is exactly as the op reports

there are 2 possibly separate issues

    1) random post failure at high bclk with fans powering off and bios warning

    2) random c1 post reset- where after the post beep but before windows loads, the mono will click to c1 and start the post again. Often this gas no associated message.

The first issue I have only seen at high bclk on confirmed 24h stable settings and seemed initially to be an oversensiyivity to ioh voltage- eg more prevalent past 1.18 v ( 2 mobos tested) the issue although random was reproducible at stock speeds with that voltage tweak. There may be other factors involved though

the second issue seems independent of bclk and is less reproducible but certainly can occur at stock settings. Seems very random an independent of voltages and clocks

Please pass this onto bios engineers. Can they confirm if the corsair hx1000 psi is incompatible? I also have razer USB peripherals

I am going for some quick answers after a lot of time and expense

    Tim

Answers aint going to be quick quick on this, if they was i would have found my answer through google. As for the PSU being incompatiable, i highely doubt that with the HX1000W :D

c1 error is memory, either bad overclock settings or qpi voltage or faulty ram module/socket or bent cpu pins,as for usb keyboard n mouse i have no problems razer keyboard works fine in bios even before i load its drivers but ud7 is a newer board so it could be just a bios issue but i thought they would have most of those things covered by now

Wouldnt he be able to tell if he had bent pins due to a drop in performance, not seeing all cores etc etc?

it depends which pins are bent, the memory controller is in the chip so if a c1 error shows up its best to check cpu socket first, just incase then move on to the ram modules and sockets, test the modules/sockets by installing one stick of ram in each white slot one at a time if its working it will boot into windows from any white slot

Ive never checked to see if i get an error code (in the mornings) but then again as i said i have a 5970 which covers the area

it will show ff if everything is fine,if you look in the manual at the back it tells you what the codes mean,if you do check cpu socket be carefull not to damage it as you check it,dont let the clamp close down without the cpu being installed as most likely it will have thermal paste around the edges and this will foul the cpu socket

    There are no bent pins

the c1 does not indicate a specific error- simply in this case it indicates that post internal trst has restarted for some reason- it's exactly like the normal false starts that occur with overclocking but this can occur after the post beep. In otherwords at a random part of the post before ff it will restart post maybe 1 in 10 times at any clock or voltage. If it gets to ff it is fine prime stable etc

As this issue has occured with multiple hardware motherboards and voltage configurations, a simple fix is not possible.

c1h indicates memory detection error, error detecting its type, size and ecc according to the gigabyte ud5 manual the mb l.e.d clock will only display c1 it wont show the h part.it will flash c1 then cycle through the other codes till it reaches ff but if it stays at c1 then its memory related including cpu
