Cant be random if we're both getting it ;)

Also id check partition now so we know what the case is before changes are made.

Any idea what bugcheckcode 252 is?

LinX crashed before the 1st pass today which is weird as its passed before on same settings, last time being last night!

Still no BIOS warning screen though :D

    Update :D

Well not sure what bugcode 252 is but that only happened whilst running linx, surfing the net, and listening to music...

Ran the test again with nothing running in the background and had very different results

At some over these 19 pages you'll see a comment from me saying i had to stop linx because of temps.... If ive ever ran a test and temps have got to the "80" number id stop it before hand. Highest ive ever been is 79.....

Seems i made a stupid mistake on my part *whoops* and had installed my fans upside down :S

Only saw this when my new fans turned up today (still not fitted) so changed my fans round, also stopped using SYS_FAN2 as its really slow (cheers lsd for the heads up) and my temps are very different to say the least :D

Ok so i may have failed Linx as the pic shows BUT its the furthest ive got in linx (prime95 is a different story and before this thread id only use Prime95 to benchmark where as now i have a variety of apps) and my temps are drastically different! Infact so much so..... im happy to aim for 4.2ghz now and see if the 21x multi gets me further through the test :D

LSD - I know your all excited like a little kid with your new toy (980x) so when you get a chance let me know your thoughts on my linx test and what to change/try

71 Degrees max is such a good improvement and considering im on AIR woohoo :D

The case is a HAF 922 which is using its standard fans.

Then for the CPU im using 2 apache 120mm fans in push/pull config but not side to side as alot of people have. I have one sucking air from the bottom, and one pushing it out the top

Cant believe my new temps (esp as i havent fitted the other 2 fans i purchased) is even lower temps than what Mega Shadow got on their test system (I have an email from them) and lower than alot of benchmark reviews for the cooler itself.

what rpm fans though? you mean horizontally exhausting hot air through the top of case? is your psu at the bottom? mines at the top so i cant set my fans up like that if i do they would send all the hot air into the psu

1300RPM - Yes thats how my fans are facing, sucking air from the bottom and pushing out the top. PSU is at the bottom

Edit: Just changed the multi to x21 (4.2ghz) and got a BSOD whilst running prime before it had finished its first instance. (ive passed first instance before but cant remember what voltages were different)

    BugcheckCode 59 ??
    BugcheckParameter1 0xc0000005
    BugcheckParameter2 0x0
    BugcheckParameter3 0xfffff8800be24e80
    BugcheckParameter4 0x0

Vcore im guessing but why not the vcore bug code?
