Mutli was changed from x20 - Doing tests before x21 was more stable but cant remember the damn settings i had

So i upped vcore, then i got the 124 BSOD, so i upped VTT one notch then i got this...

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: fc
    BCP1: FFFFF900C06A2D30
    BCP2: BE5000016E42A863
    BCP3: FFFFF88009C66F00
    BCP4: 0000000000000002
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

    Event viewer shows

    BugcheckCode 252
    BugcheckParameter1 0xfffff900c06a2d30
    BugcheckParameter2 0xbe5000016e42a863
    BugcheckParameter3 0xfffff88009c66f00
    BugcheckParameter4 0x2
    SleepInProgress false
    PowerButtonTimestamp 0

I dont know what any of that means

Edit: Its now nearly 2am and ive come to the conclusion i dont like LinX :D

The app has a mind of its own unlike Prime95. Earlier today i ran the test and failed after 15mins as shown in my pic earlier. Just now i ran the same test again and got a BSOD within 5mins....

0X00000050 << Incorrect Memory Timing/Freq or Uncore Multi

How could it pass earlier and then fail now when the settings are the same? Mind of its own? I could try the uncore multi at x17 and not x18 but the point is it failed earlier after 15mins and round 2 it fails within mins and gives me a BSOD... Hmmmmm

Think ill be going back to Prime95 at this rate lol

    Hi SB420,

your settings seem reasonable, I would suggest establish first that it is failing because of the CPU or the memory.

Try running the memory at a slower multiplier, also even using T2, and this way you will be confident that the processors can handle 21*200. Afterward you will know that it is time to tune the memory system.

Also what may be happening may be a power supply issue. Are the temps OK?

    good luck, Jure Z.

lol theres no power supple issue going on here mate, using the HX1000 :D

Dont really want to lower the memory multi as ive already done all the memtests though i do see your point. I had it running before but just cant remember what settings i was using. At the time temps weren't good enough however they are fine now ive put the fans the right way round lol.

It doesnt help when it gives me BSOD's with codes i dont understand, or even more annoyingly... when LinX just fails but doesnt tell you why.

Might try 4.2ghz under Prime95 for an hour instead to see what happens as i myself am curious to see what will happen to the temps. As you can see by my picture on page 19, At 4.0ghz under linx, my highest core was 71, so hoping i should be ok

    Hi Silver,

I just remembered the lines in the poem : " try, try, and try again ..." LOL !

lol cheers for that - Just wish i knew what i was changing when the errors happened rather than just guessing

I know this isnt under prime/linx or any type of stress.... but just thought id show you my idle temps :D

At one point i was going to redo the thermal paste as i wasnt 100% happy with the temps. Built several pc's but never had to redo thermal paste as generally the chip has lasted as long as the board... wasnt looking foreward to doing it, but now with the correct fan config im rather happy with the new numbers :D

Note: 200x20 reads as I7 920, where as 200x21 reads as just "I7" - Just thought id mention this incase anyone thought it was a 920 chip as opposed to a 930.

when you get a pretty good bios setup you can save it in a profile using @bios,then if you forget those magic settings you can just re-flash the bios using your saved bios profile with q-flash NOT @bios and youll have all your settings back, makesure you untick load cmos default in q-flash before you flash

Do normally write everything down, but made so many changes since that i just cant remember. Problem is i would of had several profiles doing it that way. I have some text files on the desktop with various configs which i find easier to go through though thanks for the tip.

Cant believe my lowest core today was 32... is the lowest ive had at 4.ghz.... Wonder how high ill be able to go.... Id love to see 4.4ghz.... maybe not for everyday use but it would be nice to see, Guessing 4.2ghz will be the limit though as ive read temps can change quite a bit from 4.0 to 4.2 on the i7 chips?

its low because you probably have win7 power saving profile on balanced where it will throttle cpu @idle like c1e does when enabled in bios, set it to high performance then look at temps
