    Default EP45T-DS3R RAM settings problem

    Hi guys,

I'm having trouble setting my memory (CORSAIR 1600C7DHX 2x1 GB DDR3) to run at 1600 MHz using Gigabyte EP45T-DS3R and Intel Q9450.
I've set the FSB to 400 MHz and the multiplier at 4 but i keep getting triple boot failure.

    Please help me out

This is the link to my memory information

In order to boot i had to change memory multiplier to 3.33D. Also i set latencies to 7-7-7-20
    but memset shows differently

How did it fail? Fail to boot, fail to load windows, fail inside windows? Any BSOD Codes, if you get BSOD look on the left side of the screen for the 0x00000000 code, or if vista/win 7 tell me the code shown to you after a reboot.

About your memory timings, what does CPU-z show in the Memory tab?

There is not a 4.00D strap option. Which memory multi you choose does matter, a lot. Which is why I suggested the ones I did.

It failed to boot. i tried all 4.00 miltiplier options and it wouldn't boot

I took a picture so you can see i have 4.00D as an option

Hmm, looks like a buggy BIOS to me. There isn't a 4.00D option, so don't use that one.

Your settings look very wrong, if you are setting 777-x in the BIOS then that is failing and the board is reverting to defaults. Do you see a red warning box when you enter the MIT Section of the BIOS?

I only see it when i try to boot with 4.00X options selected, when i select 3.33D it has no trouble booting and there is no warning in the MIT section

I'm using F3 version of BIOS. The only thing newer than that is F4a beta BIOS and i don't really want to use that one while it is beta stage of development

Ya, that is likely because that is a bug and should not be a setting available to you.

You can use 4.00B though, but it may or may not work for you and that memory or your voltage wishes.

Beta BIOS are the best, they are the ONLY ones I ever use. I suggest you update to that, it will have fixes and improvements that you may be waiting a long time to see if you wait for the final. When there is no issues found with a beta it is simply renamed anyway to a final, so basically you would be waiting for nothing if no issues are found with that beta (Which I have not heard or noticed).

Either way, even if that 4.00D is in the new BIOS it should not be. You will have to use 3.33D with a higher FSB or 4.00B if you can get it to work

Thanks for your help so far

Do you maybe know what would be the reason why i can't use x4 multiplier with this memory, it doesn't really make sense why would it crash?

Can i change samo other settings and try to make it work with 4.00B or is increasing the FSB my only alternative?

Could you please explain what do those leatters after the multiplier mean? For instance what is the difference between 4.00A and 4.00B?

    Thanks
