    Alright. I went stock references and dropped the VTT down 1 notch just to see what would happen. I'm running Prime95 now with large FFT's. Should I let it run an hour or what would be a preliminary "stable" time length?

    Useually blend for 8-12 hours at least, of course Linpack will have to pass too to be "stable".
    Search the forum, there are quite a few Q9550 OCing threads, see what they had.

    So I could be looking at a couple more weeks of this misery eh? I mean, honestly, when do people get the time to change 1 tiny setting, wait 12+ hours for a result and keep going in such tiny increments?

    I've tried some other templates but never really wanted crazy volts or high CPU. It seems a lot of people just want to use the highest multiplier to get to 4GHz. I'll keep looking though.

    Anyway, the below template froze in Prime95 with large FFT's after 2 minutes. Ideas?

    Probably memory, so it's MCH Core, MCH Ref, CPU Ref, and VTT, to be sure try to run small FFT first.
    Yes, EasyTune may be useful and save time tuning voltages and running short tests before setting them in BIOS.

    Some tried high FSB, not sure what they have settled for finally, probably less than 500.

    EDIT: try tRD 10, just to see if it's that or not.

    Froze in OCCT Linpack about 3 minutes in. I didn't use the volts he had in the image, I used the volts he had in his sig.

    Anyway, back to my template. I'm running small FFT's now and it's been going for 17 minutes, does that give a conclusive result for what needs to be changed? If so, what would you change first?

    BTW, thanks for sticking with me and not ignoring the thread :D

    MCH and/or CPU Reference, one at a time, up and down, the most stable you can find.
    Have you set tRD to 10? If not try that too.

    Yea I just saw your edit. I set tRRD to 10 and large FFT's froze in roughly the same amount of time (made no difference). Should I try to lower VTT and VCore before references so I don't have to do the references twice?

    tRD(Static tRead Value in BIOS, Performance Level in MemSet) not tRRD.
    Leave VTT as it is for now.

    Ohhhhhh. I think if I can lock down 480MHz FSB that I'll be pleased. I have a couple results of MCH ref changing. I'll go try tRD after posting this.

    MCH Ref change - Result
    +1 - Still freezes in Prime95 almost immediately
    +2 - Froze starting Windows
    +3 - Weird Windows startup and a restart
    +4 - POST failure
    -1 - Core 1&2 error'd in Prime95, Core 3&4 worked until I restarted
    -2 - Same as above except some programs failed to start and one said memory might be corrupt, a few seconds into Windows and Aero disabled itself.

    I have yet to test CPU Ref but -1 MCH Ref worked the best out of what I tested.

    tRD @ 10 and 1 minute into Prime95 and no freezing! Yay! Template looks like this just to keep it updated:

    Ahhh.... OCCT Linpack froze at 56min 53sec. It's an improvement lol. Prime95 was run for 3 minutes before I ran Linpack and it didn't error or fail. I'll run it until it does and then report back.

    Prime95 froze with the above template after 3 minutes on large FFT's. Is it time to change ref's?
