    Ahh k, just wondering.

Too bad you don't live next door to me, I'd bring you over a few sets to play around with.

Would certainly save some trouble, lol.

So what are you planning to do, setup a RMA of your current kit now, or buy a cheap or different kit before you do that, so you can test?

I'm thinking of buying a new, slightly more upmarket kit. I need to find a place with a good returns policy for the remote chance it doesn't help (and I go postal on the machine >_>). I'll try RMA kit in the meantime and then sell it if all goes well.

Though this thread kind of scares me - using one of the RAM kits I was thinking of getting and he seems to have the exact same problem as me with it not registering all ram only on the first boot (start at page 2). Same motherboard and [essentially] same CPU.

    Hahaha, going postal eh!

It is a common issue, normally caused by bent pins or incorrect QPI/Vtt, of course sometimes it is memory too. I can't really comment on that brand as I have not used it, but there isn't really any one brand this shows up with more than others, it happens with them all and only rarely is it actually a faulty kit.

Not sure what to advise you as far as a memory choice goes, I only know what I use personally, I guess you will just have to take a pick from what you can find looking around and what your wallet allows. I can say either of those brands I use can also exhibit this issue if you use incorrect settings, normally that only happens at 1900+Mhz or super tight timings, otherwise if setup properly they always work perfectly.

Im having the same issue. I just finish building my system this week. My Build is identical to Stain's apart from my XFX 5850 Black Edition and Corsair 620W PSU and Intel X25-M 80GB G2 SSD.

IM looking at buying new ram and hopefully that will help me.

I just finished disassembling and re assembling my Computer to check for bent pins and there were none which is good :D

For some reason it failed to post this morning and my BOOTMNGR went Missing. Windows install wouldn't repair it and now its not even registering a WIndows Installation...sigh....3rd format in a week now on this system and ssd.

That's unusual, given that my Windows install also crapped out without warning, hung on the Windows logo and I couldn't repair it off the disc since it would just get stuck "looking for windows installations". :| (though it's probably just a coincidence because the HDD failed diagnostic tests)

If you think it might be your settings, which it often is if your memory is known to be compatible and you do not have any bent pins, then give me your full settings and I can try to help you get this sorted out.

As for your bootmgr missing, are you sure your BIOS did not just reset? When that happens you would only need to go back into Hard Disk Boot Priority and move your hard drive by name back to the top of the disk boot list.

If it's not that and you know about that, and it really is your bootmanager (MBR/BootMGR/BCD), you can rebuild the BCD manually with the install CD.

Here is some more info on that, should save you from having to do multiple installs and it is fairly easy.
