It has been over a week since I got rid of the G.Skill memory. My new Patriot memory has been rock solid. I won't hijack this thread anymore unless I run into a problem. Just assume my computer is working.

    Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Series DDR3 6GB (3 x 2GB) PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency Triple Channel Kit (8-8-8-24)
    Part #: PVT36G1600LLK

    Thanks again,
    Stain

Update: I got the RMA'd HDD back last week and I sent the RAM in on Friday (they said they've got it). I don't know how long it'll take for it to get returned but I'm very tempted to just buy a different kit now as it is. :\ There does seem to be an issue with the G.Skill RAM and the rep on their forums did mention that they've made some revisions recently.

    Thanks for the update!

Did they test your memory and let you know if it is indeed faulty, or they just sending you out a new kit and you didn't even ask?

Ya, I think they have switched many kits over to PSC IC chips, instead of Elpida, or at least many of the newer ones are using these now anyway. Kits with CAS +2 on the tRCD are PSC

It's just an automated system that says "yep, we've received it". I'll speak to them tomorrow and see what the situation is and what the turnaround time is like.

Ahh ok, just thought maybe you had talked with them.

Well good luck on a speedy return, hope it helps so you don't have to buy new memory!

    Some good news.

Sorry for the late reply we have been experiencing a large volume of
warranty traffic this week. Your item has been tested faulty and is going to
the Australian distributor for confirmation of fault and to issue a
replacement. Generally we should see a replacement unit come through next
week. The RAM will not go to G.Skill as this process would take 1-2 months
for a replacement. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you will not get the
same Rev back, but I believe you have just been unfortunate in getting a bad
    module.

    Best regards,

Great to hear! Finally someone tested the memory, too bad they wouldn't do that for you when Gigabyte had the board!

Wonder why it wouldn't give errors when you were testing?

Well this is great, let us know when you get your replacements how things go!

Replacement was dispatched and should arrive tomorrow or the day after. Right in time too since I just finished up with REMIX and have the next 2 months "free". :)

Damn delivery woke me up at 8:20am. >_< I chucked the new sticks in and booted up. First boot they were set to 1333mhz and the default timings chosen by the motherboard were actually correct (good start!). Quickly changed it to 1600mhz and rebooted, still 6gb seen so I'm going to install the OS but looks good so far.

I'll resend that PM, too. :)
