Thanks for the response I see that you have a template to work from would you reccomend I use that? I think 3.0 or 3.1 on the stock fan. But if modify the bios and then check the cpu speed in windows and it stays the same...It doesn't change nor does it change in easy tune.

you need to enable c1e and eist in advanced cpu options in bios for the cpu to throttle when idle, you can try my guide but only set bclk to give you 3.2ghz,youll run too hot @3.8ghz with stock fan

I'm trying some other things to see. I don't need to overclock this system, it just needs to be very stable. The board came with F4 loaded and I THINK (I can't remember now) F4 did the same thing and hung on coming out of Sleep Mode.
any luck with that beta bios?

try to stay under 40c for both but 40-42c is acceptable,if you look in the overclocking/monitoring tools on main page download realtemp or everest it will give you your core temeratures which is always the best place to take temps from

^^^ see the difference in easytune and everest?? always take readings from coretemps, for full load try to keep below 80c

I also have a problem getting out of sleep mode. I read some where that it may be due to the wireless keyboard and mouse. I have to do a hard reset to get it back (that cant be good for it ;)

    I have a x58a-ud3r F1 bios
    i7 930
    6g g.skill 1600 triple channel ram
    antec 650 watt power supply
    5770 vapor x
    212 hyper + cooler

It is not oced at all. Temps are High 20's to low 30's at idle. I have not seen temps over 44 under load.

I am also having a problem with the onboard sound card.

What is the latest bios and do you think it will fix my problem? I am afraid to flash the bios I dont want to screw it up!

    Thanks for your help

    Skoka

    Any thoughts?

if you read on how to flash using q-flash on main page youll be fine, best to update to the latest beta bios http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12...8aud3r.F6b.zip its most likely a bios issue and not your mouse/keyboard

Flashing is easy, so if they charge you an arm and a leg, do it yourself next time!

As for your USB KB/Mouse, yes you must use a PS/2 Keyboard or mouse to resume from S3. Your KB/Mouse may work with USB to PS/2 Adapter though, so you may want to try one of those on your mouse and set the resume setting in the BIOS to Double Click for your mouse and try that.

Just so you know the UD3R is a bit hard to screw up flashing. You that dual Bios feature that you can reset it and reflash you main bios.
