Default GA-EP45-UD3P and STOP Error 0x00000124 while gaming

I am out of ideas on this one. Running a GA-EP45-UD3P with a Q6600. It seems 100% stable running anything but 3d games. Currently running the Q6600 at stock. Have had it up to 3.6 with no change in stability. BSOD on games, fine on anything else. I can run Memtest86+, IntelBurnTest, and Prime95 for hours without any issues. If I launch Left 4 Dead 2 (or pretty much any other game) I get about 2 to 5 minutes, maybe 10 and get a STOP Error 0x00000124. Everything I see says this is a hardware error, but I have found no conclusive evidence of what hardware. I would think if it were the CPU or RAM it would fail the stress tests. Most threads on that STOP Error suggest CPU or sound. I have tried the onboard audio and an X-Fi card, no difference. I have an Antec SG-850 PSU, 8GB of GeIL Black Dragons and an ATi 4870x2. Any suggestions for further troubleshooting?

124 error is a ram error, try a little more ram voltage or northbridge voltage also try some gpu stressing programs

Could be just a driver issue.
Can you post your BIOS settings using the template in this post.

I wouldn't mind if it was RAM, I would have bought something else if I had it to do over again. I have tried northbridge from 1.1 to 1.4 (1.24-1.26 seem to be best) and RAM from 1.8 to 2.1 (2.0 on the sticker, works as well as any other amount.)

I wouldn't put it past being the ATi drivers either. I have NOT been happy with any of the drivers for this card. I am going to post the template with the settings I have had best luck with at 3.6...

Seems you are running at 5-5-5-15 so probably more than enough DRAM Voltage.
What kind of stress tests and for how long you ran them?
Could you also post a screen capture of MemSet main(click >>) and SPD(click spd) windows?

I ran Prime95 and Memtest86+ for at least 4 hours each over the weekend. And have run them before without any failures. It feels like a futility at this point. I have seem them fail before on a machine with bad RAM, can't get it to happen here. Here is the MemSet pic:

Is tRFC set manually? Doesn't seem to be auto.
For this OC it's recommended to run at least 8+ hours of Prime95 blend, 12+ preferred.
Though it doesn't seem like memory problem, maybe 1.28-1.32v MCH Core would help have you tried it?
    How are your core temperatures?
Does it fail in FurMark or other GPU stress tests?

tRFC is set manually. Auto sets it to 52. Though I have found that anything from 52 to 80 doesn't really seem to affect the stability. The working range of MCH on this setup seems to be from 1.24 - 1.3, doesn't make much difference. Higher makes it crash. 1.36-1.4 crashes it quickly. The modules are supposed to be 4-4-4-12, but won't run at that. They will for a while, but a heavy load causes a reboot. Core temps are upper 20's at idle, mid 40's while gaming, and upper 50's while running Prime95. This thing BSODs on games at stock clocks too, which is only 1066 FSB, so I am having a hard time thinking it is RAM even though it is the thing I would most like to replace. I just can't justify it if I can't get an error out of it. I haven't tried FurMark in a while or for very long. I could try it again, but I am not going to have time tonight to get a good testing out of it unless it fails quickly. Any suggestions for other GPU tests? I may try to uninstall sound altogether also to see if that makes a difference. I won't have any results until tomorrow.

Probably not the ram but you can try with only 2 sticks, if it still fail.
Maybe it is the card itself or the driver or compatibility issue with the board. Have you tried reseating it?
Maybe a bit more ram voltage and MCH reference tweaking is needed to get ram to work at 4-4-12 or at least 4-5-5-12/14.

I may try 2 sticks, but will probably not do that first. Everything has been reseated, I had this thing apart over the weekend and reassembled it to see if it helped. I don't think these sticks will run 4-4-4-12, I have seen others complain. I don't know if this helps, but most of the time right before the BSOD the sound starts looping and the screen goes black. The STOP Error is always 0x00000124.
