so am i the only person to have actually bought some ArctiClean??.. oh well..

yeah mine vents to the rear.. got a fan mounted on the case in line with my push-pull arrangement... can't mount it any other way due to the height of my DIMMs....

how thin was your line??.. i've tried getting it thin.. but i always get about 4-5mm.... the tiny syringe hardly makes it easy though...
You are not alone, I also have some 1+2! Smells great is why I like using it!

ahh mine vents up, to be fair..... if the ram needs to come out........ *hmmmm*

Tried to do the line as thin as possible, would have to guess and say it was 2-3mm

Excuse the mess... just showing you how the cooler looks the other way

    petrol? lol

I think wipes sound the easiest to me... just need to find somewhere that stocks some :)

Dont fancy doing it with petrol lol

Small line across the chip, about 2mm wide, like the instructions.... btw... what was your temps as i seem to have missed it?

Yes, I hear that from some. TX-4 coming out soon too, so I assume MX-4 will follow :)

The MX-3 formula is terrible to apply though, unlike MX-2 and TX-2

I think I will stick with the *X-2 formulas, unless the 4 series applies like 2, 3 sucks cause it is way to thick and putty like.

For NB application I use a thin line or dot, but spread it think by hand with a needle or credit card/plastic

does that cooler have a flat bottom? or are there heatpipes underneath? cut out a small square of card (credit card size)and apply a small amount of paste then spread it across try and get it a thin layer all over,or you could try the two thin line method and let presure of the heatsink spread it across the cpu .....as for petrol it hasnt got to be wet wait for it to evapourate off the rag then use it to wipe off the paste it works a treat if your out of paste cleaner

If you spread it across surely your going to create air bubbles? Pressure all the way.....

And yep its got a flat bottom... very shiny one at that :)

you spread it so its smooth, like you spread car bondo/filler it wont create air bubbles at all, your aiming for a thin even layer

Hmm i see your point but the spreading with a card or anything else for that matter IMO can create tiny air bubbles.

BTW Killer, did you try twisting the cooler a few degrees both ways once the TIM was applied? Think they mention that on AS5 instructions page or if not in the manual for the Mega Shadow... Saw it somewhere.....
