i only stick with 3.8ghz so i can use all of my ram speed,i dontlike this thermolab baram cooler either i had an akasa nero 967 before and that was better but it had intel pushpins and was a nightmare to fit,but theres a newer akasa nero s,which has a backplate so i might get that

Hi guys first of all thanks warren for some guidance.
I will be trying some new settings in a while.

To the other forum member (damn i cant see his user name now), for the front fan i had to use different clips that came with a noctua cooler as it would block the first memory stick ;)

Ill post a bit later with some results hopefully !

    that was me :)....

i've had a fun old time with my UD7... had to sent it back twice before they replaced it :).... not sure if you can see the new clips from prolimatech however:

out of interest, how do you spread your TIM for the installation of the NB heatsink?

    Thanks,
    K

    Hi k1llah3rtz,

I think we have the same clips. Its just the front ones i changed as that edge would block my memory.
Thermal Compound u mean ? I applied some Arctic MX3 into the holes.

the standard clips loop back underneath the fan to clip in, these new onces come in from the side. As my fans have quite generous groves at the front, i was able to slide the clip upwards and slide the DIMM underneath... I believe that our dimms are the same height.

r.e. NB cooler...: holes.. or groves??

Kill4h3rtz i assure you they are the same ;p (By just looking as i bought the megashadow very recently)
Its just my Yate loons fans are a bit different than the ordinary as the grabbing holes are deeper than yours.

    gotcha...

NB cooler, i'm just really surprised at the temp difference, i mean it's 7-8 degrees, I know that 48 isn't a problem and it's only 42 with the fan going, however...... i want to get mine running cooler so that i can move to 4.1+

Khm i dont know if its due to the 800D case as i have all expansion slots at the back opened for ventilation, and the 140mm blowing.
Before installing the Hybrid whatever cooler i cleaned it thoroughly with arctic cleaners 1+2 and then applied some portion of MX-3 then screwed in.
Mine stays at 44celcius with room temp now of 24c.

ahh ok, i think my room temp might be around that or a bit higher...

damn.. just remembered that i didn't clean mine before installation... hmmm thanks.

my coolermaster storm sniper seems to be ok for ventilation, i've just replaced the grated side panel with a clear windowed one so i've lost the 200mm side fan, however hoping for better airflow now.
