yes but its only a certain preconfigured profile stored on the memory, its not like tweaking it yourself to suit,it will be more accurate and stable if you set it yourself

Let me know if you need full settings for 1600Mhz memory speeds, I also advise you set things yourself and disable XMP

Hey chaps, I would much appreciate the settings for 1600 speeds. I just turned my system on and it gave me this message:

"The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes in voltage. Latest settings in BIOS my not coincide with current H/W states."

So XMP is not the way to go?

Bear in mind that this RAM says it runs at 1600, 1.35v and 9-9-9-24 timings.

    Cheers,

    Ian

to use full 1600mhz ram,you need to set you cpu bclk to 160x20=3.2ghz,set your ram multiplier to 10x=1600mhz,set your uncore freq to 21x,set ram timings according to your ram and for voltages cpu on normal cpu voltage setting,qpi/vtt try with 1.320000-1.360000 and your dram voltage to 1.66 everything else can be left on auto

Thanks Warren! I couldn't adjust uncore frequency for some reason but everything else was straight forward enough. However...

This RAM is meant to run at 1.35v so I don't really know about bumping it up to 1.65v. Is that a good idea? In the time being, I have set it at 1.4v and QPI/Vtt at 1.050v.

The CPU temperature is sitting at 48c in my BIOS when it runs at 3.2Ghz so I've adjusted it to run at 2.72Ghz and it's brought it down to 41c.

I don't really want to overclock, just to run as close to 1.35v 9-9-9-24 1600Mhz as possible without putting extra strain on heat and voltages.

    Cheers,

    Ian

i think the uncore is locked on those chips/mb's not sure and ok set the ram voltage to what it says on the module just to be safe, and are you running win7???? if you are go into power saving options and select balanced profile it will reduce idle temps,if you dont want to overclock then try with xmp but set your ram voltage and qpi voltage one or two clicks higher than it sets it at

If you still need help or advice on your memory, please get a template from my signature and give us your full current settings and we can advise back.

And of course let us know what you want to run, and what issues the settings are currently giving you such as if you are getting BSOD's give us the code (0x00000000).

Thanks, and good luck until then!
