Default ga-x58a-udr3 writing data to drives incorrectly

Ok last week I was having problems getting the system up and running while having issues with badly written data on an ubuntu partition, that issue has now moved over to my Windows 7 installation. Basically what is happening, on both drives, is infrequent drive clicking, freezing of the OS for a few seconds then working again, data written and then on restart having to run fsck in ubuntu, and in Windows 7 im still trying to find a solution because all my system programs are saying they can't find WinSock. Im very confused as to how this motherboard can be consistently writing bad data. Windows 7 doesn't report it, but everytime I run fsck in linux the problem is staring at me in the face. I've installed all the drivers I can find for the board, and the disk that came for Windows. I couldn't find any drivers to use in Linux so at this point im at a stumbling block as to what to do. The board is basically ruining the life of my drives and I have no idea how to fix this.

    Please help.

    Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s (ubuntu)
    Western Digital Caviar Blue WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (windows 7)

Unfortunately I can't install that because of the fact that I try running any programs in 7 and it tells me it can't find WinSock. I need to find a recovery disk solution to try to fix the bad sectors before I can do anything with Windows 7. The drives are installed on the intel (ich10r) sata ports.

I'm using ide/sata, and I don't believe the drives are the problem. I had the drives working just fine a week before on my previous computer configuration with no problems at all. The 1tb drive is less than a year old, and the 160gb is only 2. As soon as I installed the drives onto the new motherboard is when the issues began. Based upon what im finding when I run fsck in linux I am told that nodes are connected incorrectly. All the information remains on the drive, but certain functions don't work. In this case with 7 I can't run any applications without receiving a WinSock error, even in safemode.

    Update:

Im running a chkdsk on Windows 7 and it's correcting index entries.

This is just beyond frustrating. I ran chkdsk on windows and supposedly fixed the drive. Then I had to run startup repair because it couldn't load. It can't run startup repair because there are disk problems. And it can't run disk repair because it can't find a location in memory that was supposed to be there, and it's just this loop of problems that keeps recurring and if I try to start windows it goes to a black screen and restarts. I've already formatted this drive once to get it to work on this board, and im gonna have to do it again. But not for this motherboard. I just don't have the patience for this board. It's being returned to newegg tomorrow.

Did you install the drivers that came with the board using "Express Install"? If so, please uninstall the Gigabyte/J.Micron driver via control panel/device manger, it should be in storage controllers and will show up as GMBXX I believe. That has been known to cause various random issues and it would be installed (And not needed) if you used express install.

Do you have your main OS drive on SATAII_0? If not please move it there, and your CD/DVD Drive to SATAII_5, your other drive can go into SATAII_1

Winsock is a internet protocol handling interface/program and should not have anything to do with installing a program, nor should you be notified that is is borken/corrupt (Even if it is) when installing something. Sounds like you might have virus or spyware, have you ran scans, what do you use?
