Default UD7 Silent pipe problem !!!

    Hi,
After deciding to install the nb Silent pipe I noticed it did not fit, it was too long. I found another member from this site (illnern) with the same problem:
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-x...-thread-36659/
    Post#74.

So, I decided to write to Gigabyte about this problem and this is what they told me:

Now with this I have 2 questions...

1-What do you guys think about this ????

2- What case are you using ???? (must be ATX obviously and you must have the silent pipe installed).

As you can see I'm trying to get them to give me a few choices of case but they just won't.

    Hmm, this is odd?

I don't understand how your GFX cards could fit, but not the hybrid heatpipe. It should fit in any case, except maybe ones that are not wide enough (Like slim cases)

Can you take a few pics to better show us what you mean?

*Edit* I saw his pictures here
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-x...tml#post338602

Did you show GIGABYTE this image, or any of yours? This seems odd for sure???? I don't see how any graphics cards could fit but not the heatpipe as it should be a universal size really, I mean should fit any case that will hold a GFX card (All of them) and should line up properly since they would all be the same size?

Not sure what to think of this after seeing that image? Maybe some cases do have the alignment of motherboard mounts to the PCI Bracket off by a few MM?

Is yours not fitting into the slot length-wise (Front to back) or not enough room to push it back towards the motherboard to properly fit into the slot? Looks like the later in the thread you mentioned, I direct linked the exact post above.

Instead of RMA'n anything you could just leave it unscrewed if it looks like the above linked image, should be fine.

    wazza, it is a regular HAF932 (E-ATX).

lsd, no I did not sent them pics.
It also makes no sense to me that the 2 video card would fit perfectly and the heatsink be too long.

I first installed it on the mobo, the mobo did not fit in the case because the mounting holes were off, I then removed the heatsink installed the board and then ended up with EXACTLY what you see in the pics of the other thread.

I believe the pipes on the heat sink were not bent or cut properly.

As soon as I can, I will take measurement of the heatsink to compare it with you guys, but right now I'm in major pain writing this because I just snapped my femur in half last weekend.

That has to be the only reason, the pipes must be bent or cut wrong or something.

I can measure them, I have two here right now. I'll do that later today and post what I measure them out to be.

Sorry to hear about your leg!! Hope it heals up quickly for you

theres all different holes pre-drilled into the case to accomodate atx/micro-atx ect, just want to be sure youve installed the mb on the atx layout, youll see a line stamped into the case with atx above it also

Do you still want me to measure?

Did you verify you are using the correct mounting holes?

OK, I get 5 and 1/4" (5.25") from the inside grove edge closest to the NB, to the edge of the hybrid heatpipe's PCI Bracket edge.
