    Default P55A UD5 - fan management

    Hi all,

I can't control the speed of fans connected to my P55A UD5.
Trough Easy Tune, it's possible control the cpu fan , but what about others?
The mobo has 6 fan connectors: it's impossible I can't manage them...

    PS .
There is a FAQ or a guide to the led onboard?

Best would be to get a fan controller and it will make your life much easier.

My fan controller controls all 6 fans.

you can control them through voltage control in the bios,i think it only supports two 4pin pwm fans ones cpu and other is system2,the rest are 3pin fans

    exactly

In the bios I can't find any parameters to choice fan speed (except for CPU fan or the fan fail warning).
Whatever I think it's possible to control fans 'cause them don't go to max speed when connected to Motherboard, or at least not all (for example to system3 or chipset headers)

I suggest you use F10c from Gigabyte site
    GA-P55A-UD5 (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS

    Or latest from here F10g
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/giga...st-bios-28441/

I just checked F10c BIOS and it only has CPU Fan adjustment, so I assume they all only have that but I still advise using the latest BIOS above F10g

Your manual tells you what fans can be controlled and what the LED's are for. Fan layout is on page 26, and LED info is on page 22
    ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/mb...p55a-ud5_e.pdf

I do see in your manual though SYS_FAN2 is controllable as with almost all the boards, but generally this header only runs at half speed anyway, so not sure if speedfan could help you with that or not but that is what you would need to try adjusting it with.

If you have some specific LED questions let us know and we will try to help you get them sorted out

    Hi,

I'm reluctant to use beta BIOS. I think I'll wait the official version's release.
Whatever, I've already tried to use speedfan, without effects

About LEDS, I haven't any specific problems, but I observed that during POST someone lights up, and immediately they turn off when POST is complete. I underline that system is stable ( about RAM, it passed 6 hours of memtest86+).
Is this a normal behaviour ?

Now, I don't remember what LEDS light up: if you need to know it, I'll check.

PS. where can I find the same version of Award BIOS editor you used?

you should have one green ram led lit,one cpu led lit,and the blue leds light up depending how much your cpu is overclocked,i have four blue led's lit at the moment...as for beta bios's its all i ever use there just as stable as the official releases and have more up to date fixes inside them
