    Default GA-EP45-UD3P v1.1 - HW Monitor

    I have a Q9550 overclocked successfully and running rock stable at 450x8.5 (3.83ghz). All cores with Intel Burn (High - 20 runs) reach around 61-62C. I noticed that CPU Temp reaches 67-69c. My question, what is CPU Temp, is it the NB? Should I be concerned if I want to try 4ghz on my cpu? Thanks.

    cpu temps is normally the cpu itself,best to use coretemp and go off the actual core temperatures themselves as they will be a few degrees hotter than what easytune tells you,also download lavelys everest that will tell you all your core temps and north bridge temps ect,look in overclocking tools and monitoring programs on main page and download them

    No.... the EP45-ud3p does not have a sensor for the NB... it only has sensors for the CPU (which is not accurate) and one for the motherboard which is the SB (south bridge). You can almost ignore the cpu temp reported by HW monitor. The cpu temp is supposed to be the temp of the cpu its self at exact center of the cpu under its IHS (internal heat sink). the motherboards sensor for the cpu is under or near the cpu socket.

    As a rule of thumb cpu temp should be 5-10c lower then core temps.

    On my board my cpu temp was close to be right untill a certain overclock then it just bonkers.

    I also suggest using Everest Ultimate, it shows the temps clearly labeled and voltages all on one page.

    You can get a trial of it here, but it will not be fully functional unless you buy it of course.

    You really need to worry about CPU Cores, not the CPU temp itself

    hw monitor gives spurious readings sometimes.
    Use one of the other monitoring programs.
    for NB temp you will need a seperate temp sensoron 45 Giga boards.
    For practical purposes your nb temp will be very close to the system temp.
    for example right now for me with room temp at 20C
    idle temps(overclocked)
    NB=33.2C
    System=35C
    cpu=29C
    core1=35C
    core2=35C
    core3=40C
    core4=40C
    gpu=43C

    overclocked under load temps, are in my sig
