Should I start a new thread with my system hardware listing and bios settings to "resolve" my slow to boot screen time. I think 14 seconds is ridiculous. What can I look at because I've disabled all the ports I am not using.
did you set hdd delay to 0 in the bios aswell??? disable anything you dont have installed ie floppy drives as it will add to start up time as it checks for these things

Go into Standard CMOS and disable each port you are not using. Where it says none, go into each one at set None again on the inside top setting.

Then disable the J.Micron ports if you are not using them too!

Your time may be normal, I have not timed a bootup but I know it is slower than other manufacturers, just something you have to get used to.

Post a video if you can/want, actually here wazza posted a few a while ago

Coil Whine is still reported for Corsair PSU's in revision 2.0 boards--very disappointing that Gigabyte hasn't really resolved these issues...

I called Gigabyte, twice, and asked about swapping the board out for a rev 2 and not surprisingly they said no. They don't swap boards for that reason. Oh well.

BTW, I wasn't able to get hold of a rev 2 either. The place where I got my board hadn't gotten any in yet, and my exchange period just ran out so... again, oh well.

Only for those PSU's and maybe a few others, how can you expect Gigabyte to correct some PSU issue?

I have no issues with ANY Gigabyte boards and the PSU's I use, sounds like you need to switch your PSU preferences maybe?

Seeing that Corsair is one of the most popular power supplies used, I would thing the two companies would want to figure out what's going on. But that's just my way of thinking.

At any rate I've experienced no whine issues with the two boards I've dealt with. Had to replace my X58A-UD5 for unspecified reasons (Still didn't get that rev 2). But I only mention it because Antec 550 and not 850 power supplies produced no whining noise on either board.

However, again, if this is an issue between Corsair and Gigabyte, someone needs to fix it fast.

    My two cents.

Ya, you would think so, but honestly I hear it often.

I am talking with a member here (SB420) who is on his third RMA for a HX1000 (I think that is the model), and he finally got them to admit it make a sound itself too!

WOW! So it would appear to be on Corsair's shoulder. Hmmm.... will have to check the Corsair forums to see what PS issues are being discussed.

Ya, feel free to PM that member and ask him all about his experiences with these PSU and them directly.

I couldn't believe he finally got them to admit it makes noise itself.

Just finished setting up my system below (Gigabyte + Corsair PSU), and I don't hear any special coil whine or other extraneous noises. I'm a happy camper.
