I've now posted to the Asrock forum on TWeaktown, one of the two official (??) Asrock support forums, an IOMMU BIOS proposal.

ADDED: Also now submitted a ticket.

Angela and Tim are very busy people, so not sure if they would reply to your emails or not, you could try though.

I am in direct contact with them, and like I said they are looking into this and are aware of this thread. I am sure once they see Asus, and others, doing this they will jump onboard as well.

I have not heard anything new yet, but like I said they told me it would take some time before anything was decided.

I have just posted a message asking for IOMMU verification help on a swedish forum thread on "Crosshair IV". As usual in these kind of threads people seems mostly interested in overclocking but maybe we can reach some Linux or Xen savvy dude...

Alright, I received the Crosshair IV Formula last night, and got it up and running late last night.
I can confirm that the BIOS does have the IOMMU option, but when I ran the Xen LiveCD, `xm dmesg` indicated that IOMMU was disabled.

The lspci did show the device (00:00.2).

I will be installing Debian with Xen to try to get more verbose output on why the IOMMU was disabled.

I will also be posting the lspci, xm dmesg, etc later today. If you guys have requests for information or things to do, let me know (preferably with the specific command you would like me to type on the command line, I'm a relative n00b). I'll try to get all the stuff up tonight.

I will also update the BIOS to see if there may have been a fix in regards to IOMMU (doubt it, the changelog says nothing in regards to it).

Try passing the "iommu=1" boot parameter to Xen.
Or boot any recent non-Xen Linux kernel and check
    Code:
    dmesg | grep -i -e IOMMU -e AMD-Vi -e IVRS
    .

You can try these linux commands too:

    lspci -d 1002:5a23
    ls /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/IVRS

1002:5a23 is the official AMD pci-id for IOMMU
IVRS contains the information on how to use IOMMU
Asus board with Intel IOMMU have usually problems with that.

Also, `lspci -vvv` would be nice to see as well.

Hi guys, another update. First off, sorry, but I haven't been able to install Debian. For some reason, the Debian CD (netinst) will not recognize the built-in NIC (Marvell 8089). I got Ubuntu, which supposedly has support for it, but for some reason the Ubuntu CD will not boot. Very weird. I'll be getting a normal Debian install disc (not a netinst) and seeing if that has the updated sky2 module (that is supposed to have support for the NIC).

I'll run the commands you guys requested ASAP.
