    Default Upgrading to P55

I am thinking about an upgrade. But I have absolutely no idea which board to get. I am definitely after socket 1156. Was looking at reasonably priced P55-UD3, but could anyone explain the logic behind FOUR PCI slots? That simply sucks! Who uses PCI cards nowadays? I could understand having one for compatibility reasons, but four? My 5850 occupies two slots itself, and I also have extra network card and sound, and I can't think of a way of fitting those into MB with this layout.

Sounds like that isn't the board for you, unless it is the only one in your price range and also has the slots you do want to use.

Maybe you should look at UD4P or UD5?

    P55A-UD3P
    P55A-UD4P
    P55A-UD5
    P55A-UD6
    P55A-UD7

How about any of those, prices go up as model # increases

Ah, I don't want that. It's even done by an extra chip on the board, right? Not for me really...

Well want it or not, those may be easier to find now since the others are not being made anymore.

You don't have to use those features, you can disable them if you like

Yes, I think they have stopped making the older models now. I could be wrong, but I do know they are in short supply at most places.

Go ahead with an "A" model, unless you specifically find a non A you want then I suppose look around until You can find it.

If you do find a non A that you want, be sure to also compare the A model of that type as it will likely have the same specs and be easier for you to find available to purchase
