Question... So if I don't get a BSOD 124 that pretty much says my QPI/Vtt is good...even if Prime fails? In short, If Prime 95 fails, should I look elswhere and not worry about QPI/Vtt?

Sorry, not good at this overclocking thing... yet.

    Thanks

    Hello!

I didn't forgot you people, it's just i've been away last days and i did not have the chance to try new settings.

    I'll keep you informed.

    Thanks

Yes, that is pretty much how you can think of it. If you have doubts though open easytune and up the QPI/Vtt ONLY and test and see if prime still fails, if it does even after several bumps up in QPI/Vtt than the issue is something else

Thanks. That helps a lot as I'm currently tweaking voltages to find a sweet spot between temps and stability.

    Thanks.

Edit. One other thing... I notice that if I use the XMP profile for my memory modules, the timings, voltage, will be correctly set (8-8-8-24-1, 1.65v), but doing this also adjusts the QPI/Vtt to 1.35 volts! Why the voltage jump in QPI/Vtt???

BTW my system is OC to 3.5gig and I'm currently running my memory at 1600MHz, 8-8-8-20-1, 1.66v, QPI/Vtt at 1.2v instead of 1.35v, Core Volt at 1.118 and the system runs good, even in gaming (however Prime 95 fails after 2-3 hours so...???)

That is one of the reasons I suggest against XMP, no way some pre-programmed settings can know what your CPU needs for QPI/Vtt voltage.

Set it yourself and tweak it until you find the sweet spot, some XMP programming depending on the memory have QPI/Vtt set to 1.6 even so 1.35 is about average.

1.2 at 1600Mhz may not be enough and that could be why prime is failing, try 1.28-1.35 and see how things go

Just to update you... I upped my Core voltage from 1.118 to 1.250 and Prime's not failing like it did before. Prime would fail within ten minutes of running with 1.118 volts. I ran it last night for a little over an hour with no issues thus far. I'll run it a little longer later on this week, but in real world usage the computer has no issues whatsoever, even in gaming.

    Thanks.
