thats normal it will fluctuate depending on cpu load, when you stress the cpu at 100% it will switch to full 3.8ghz,to run at 3.8ghz all the time idle and load you need to disable c1e in advanced cpu features in the bios,or if your using windows 7 go in power saving and select high performance profile whats it show cpu voltage at in easytune/tuner/advanced/voltage1?? heres my voltage settings just for referance but make settings in bios as easytune will crash if you try to overclock with it

^^^ to show you the cpu at stress/full speed and at idle/auto downclocked with c1e or balanced profile in win7 enabled/selected

    Thanks Wazza.

Just realised that Windows 7 balanced mode was turned on (had it on High Performance yesterday while downloading something overnight).

Running a Blend Test under Prime95 as I type and it's going ok as far as I can tell.

I've got the Blk set to 185 (changed it before I realised Windows power mode was affecting the CPUz reading ) so it's clocked to 3885 MHz at the moment.

    **Edit**
Prime95 has already come up with errors on Worker 1 @ Test 8 and Worker 2 @ Test 1

    **Edit2**
Now I've got an error on Worker 5 @ Test 7.

Will reboot and try Blk 180 in a minute OR do I bump up the other settings as you mentioned above (not done so yet)?

I had Easytune installed before and I keep getting a driver error on startup as it doesn't recognise my ATI 5850 cards. I've un-installed it for now but if it can be loaded back on without starting on boot up then I will install it again.

it should install as easytune supports the 5000 series now,it works with my 5770 makesure you un-install the old easytune first, you may need more qpi/vtt voltage and cpu voltage to be stable in prime95 just add one click on each and re-test and so on untill no more errors

Re-downloaded Easytune off of the Gigabyte website (link on the Tweaktown thread doesn't work).

Version B10.0427.1 according to the setup.

Working for me also (must have had the last version downloaded in April).

Went back in to the bios and dropped the Blk down to 180 and also set the CPU Vcore to 1.18750v instead of Normal and within a few seconds of trying Prime95 Windows 7 BSOD on me.

Put CPU Vcore back to normal and Easytune is reporting a value of 1.28125v

Should I go back and try increasing the CPU Vcore from 1.18750v or stick with Normal setting?

you could try around the 1.20000v mark, maybe 1.21250 and keep adding till its stable but under your current normal of 1.28125v.....setting it to normal setting is more than enough voltage but you want to try and lower it if you can asmuch as possible while being stable

Still getting Prime95 errors within seconds of starting or at least within the first round of testing on one or more worker screens.

Under the above circumstances would lowering CPU Vcore make things worse or do I still need to up the QPI/Vtt volts?

Current values - Power On -- Target:
    CPU PLL - 1.800v both
    QPI/Vtt - 1.31500v -- 1.33500v
    CPU Vcore - 1.28125v both
    DRAM Voltage - 1.66v both

    PCIE - 1.500v both
    QPI PLL - 1.100v both
    IOH Core - 1.1200v -- 1.1400v
    ICH I/O - 1.500v both
    ICH Core - 1.100v both
