I only set the ram to XMP settings for the memtest. It made it through 6 tests and passed without fail.

The XMP values put it through at 1600mhz which is the advertised speed.

All my testing for the over clock settings were done with manual ram settings lower than 1600mhz.

I will try over clocking again later/tomorrow as I have had the system turned off from the PSU and have cleared the CMOS from the button several times since.

Set that 1600Mhz yourself is what I mean, no way XMP is going to guess your correct QPI/Vtt so you might as well set ram multi/uncore/timings/QPI/Vtt/dram voltages all yourself

Good luck with the tweaking and testing, let us know if you need more help once you get going

    Still not getting any luck.

Cleared the CMOS from the rear button several times over the last week and a half (PSU switched off and never turned on during that time).

First boot into bios I loaded Q-Flash and loaded 13h bios.

Second boot into bios I loaded optimized defaults, saved and rebooted.

Third boot into bios I set the settings below.

In Windows I open up Prime95, Easytune and Core Temp (also have Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 open in background) and begin a stress test. Within a minute I have at least 2 failures.

you shouldnt be getting any failures with those voltages and stock clocks, the batch of memory you have could be flakey idk, have you considered another brand of ram? or would they exchange it? you could try with Uncore Frequency .......................... x24 or x26?? and system performance enhance to turbo or extreme? maybe try with one or two clicks more on qpi/vtt voltage

The memory passed 5 memtest runs the other week before I got to this stage. I bought the RAM in October last year when prices were cheap (~75 then and 142 now) Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (TR3X6G1600C9) [TR3X6G1600C9].

I will reboot and try with x24 Uncore frequency but I hold out no hope.

im only saying it could be ram im not sure,it could be not enough qpi/vtt or cpu voltage as the memory controller is inside the cpu, what test did you do in prime95? blend?

Rebooted and set Uncore to x24 and system to Turbo and it still gave me errors (though not as quick as before).

I'm running Blend tests with Prime95.

you can try with looser timings aswell and see if you have less errors 9-9-9-26 or 9-9-9-28

Have been running a Small FTTs test since my last post and no problems so far.

I will leave this test running for an hour and then try looser timmings on the RAM. I guess if it still fails a Blend test then an RMA for the ram is on the cards?!
